Wow, the US, my home country has over 30% obese? So shocking.

Blame the liberal portion sizes, coming in from Mexico.

I post for interest - not signature spam.

I`m pretty mind blown on how light really does effect us with weight issues.

So what do we do? I cant afford good grocery all the time, and its tied to how much I make to eat better.

1. Cost of living is up while wages climb much slower which leads to buying less expensive food full of chemicals
2. Adults raising families have restricted income which leads to buying less expensive food full of chemicals
3. People have to work harder and longer just to be able to "get by" and have less time or energy to take care of themselves
4. Children are being raised on this chemical ridden food which contributes to childhood obesity
5. Children are spending far too much time using social media/video games/electronics and don't get enough physical activity
6. A large portion of today's adults (30-50 years old) will be grossly overweight by the time they reach retirement age due to a combination of processed foods, over-working, and lack of physical activity.

I have no studies, no proof, this is just my own opinion based on my observations.

Are you sure about that? Because the Mexicans are not as obese as the other ethnic groups.

I noticed that survey source was done in 2005-2008.

Is there anything recent?

I was surprise, I always thought this was because of overeating and no exercise.
Nope. It's lightbulbs' fault. Also indirectly causes cancer.

My aunt is 400lbs because she took birth control 20 years ago. True story. Tongue

why then.. i should just start drinking 4 milkshakes per day instead of the 3 i normally do in that case.

Those are old numbers.  I work in an area in Southeast Los Angeles - the population here is more or less 95% Hispanic.  I would say 50-55% are obese, with about 20% being morbidly obese.  I refer a number of these patients out for bariatric surgery (they failed pils).  I have 2 patients who are over 600 pounds  Shocked

Gotta start screening for lightbulbs...
