You are cordially invited to help us develop CCU a new purpose-driven coin to fund cryptocurrency education.

CCU is both a school (Cryptocurrency University) and a coin, please help us make CCU a success, here are our needs:

I] The Coin -
Specification - we want your input to determine all of the coin's specs, including but not limited to: algorithm, wallet design,  51% takeover protection, size of normal blocks,  # of seconds block time, time for Difficulty re-targeting, point of mining payout halved, # confirmations for transaction, rewards, hash, etc ...

Website Development - we need a website developer.

Marketing - we need individuals to use social media to tell others about CCU.

II] The School - CCU will very likely be responsible for producing tomorrows CC industry leaders, in order to do that we need:

Faculty & Staff - if you or someone you know is truly a CC genius contact us for an interview.   The subjects are from The Fundamentals Of Cryptocurrency, to various cryptocurrency subjects including but not limited to: history, security, mining, investment, ethics, marketing, management, & law,   Certain subjects go from 1001 to 5001.

Website Development - CCU has one site for the school, the coin, and the foundation

Scholarships & Grants - CCU is committed to educating everyone that earnestly want to improve the CC industry, we recognize that at times some students may need financial assistance to cover all or part of their tuition, as such we have created a scholarship fund that provides aid to those who qualify.  We also have some sponsors who provide a limited number of grants without qualifications.   Please help us find students and grant sponsors.

Marketing - we need individuals to use social media to tell others about CCU

III]  The CCU Foundation - is the brain trust charged with guiding, developing, and protecting the interests of the school and the CC.   Composed of 5 - 15 members (all elected seats except 2).  The bylaws will detail all aspects of the organization.

The coin is multifaceted in purpose to insure perpetual life and to:

1) fund the initial development of the Cryptocurrency University,
2) provide a real life practical application to a major part of what the school teaches,
3) provide on going scholarships for students who cannot afford tuition to CCU,
4) provide needy schools with mining rigs to pool hash power and incorporate CC studies into their curriculum.
5) provide for all of CCU's start-up expenses (Management, development, and marketing)

Here are some specific needs (paid positions are paid with CCU):

Lead Developer - paid position, you will be responsible for all code development for the coin.

Developer - bounty paid position - to construct faucet, and to work with web developers for proper integration of the faucet into the website.

Lead Web Developer -  paid position, you will be responsible for all CCU (school and coin) website development

Assistant Web Developer - unpaid position, this person(s) will be instructed and supervised by the lead web developer in the ways to design, develop, and maintain the CCU website, and facebook page.

Sales & Marketing Director  - paid position, you will be responsible for all sales and marketing for CCU.  Chief among all duties is securing sponsors, sponsorship, revenue streams, and funding for projects, however responsibilities also include marketing CCU to potential investors, students, faculty, and staff.

Marketing Assistants - unpaid position, this person(s) will work with all of the social media venues, facebook, Myspace, twitter, instagram, youtube (including making videos), etc ...

Instructors for each subject - paid position, must be committed to subject area and your students.  You are paid according to the cost of the class and your student evaluations.

Security Consultant - paid position, responsible for keeping CCU safe and secure will execute internal security audit, test systems for flaws and vulnerabilities, and also regularly test policies and procedures compliance.

Graphic Artist -  bounty paid position - to create a logo for CCU

Merchandising Assistants - unpaid position, this person(s) will find creative ways to sell CCU merchandise online, in stores, door-to-door, etc.

As you can see this is a major endeavor that requires many resources.  Please help, our hope is that you will be forever proud with your involved in this project.

Judging by your open list of basically every position on a team (including whatever is you do,) it looks like you're fishing for people to do all the work for you.

Thanks for your input, that was a very interesting analysis.  The list is extensive because we are moving from concept to reality; when you start a new coin you have needs; this is more than just a new coin start-up so our needs are greater.   Please note that all of the core positions are paid positions.

Normally when a coin is launched real money (btc or fiat) isn't seen until the coin is listed on an exchange, for 95% of the different coins that exchange listing is the end of the line because they have no built-in or general market for the coin.   Since CCU is a purpose driven coin it has a built-in market, coins will have immediately real money value at  launch, and far greater value well beyond exchange listing.

"Masquerading"?   Why would you used that term.

The coin is purpose driven, there's an actual reason for its existence beyond exchange trading; that's a good thing nothing to fear.  Real purpose creates a deeper level of stability for the coin, you have relevant ancillary data to weigh.  If the school is growing the likelihood is that the coin will also grow.

"tangible"?    Should that mean not CCU?

1) we are in the cryptocurrency universe, nothing here is "tangible"

2) all CCs are firstly about subscribing to principles, those who want to be paid with anything other than CCUs don't see our vision for this project

3) As I indicated earlier, unlike most other CCs exchange value presents well before the coin is listed on an exchange.  As such, those who want to cash out will have that avenue available to them.

4) Once the CC community appreciates the vision and value for what it is, we expect abundant cooperation.

You want me to clarify: "real purpose creates a deeper level of stability for the coin, you have relevant ancillary data to weigh", gladly.

1)  "real purpose" - The real purpose of currency is to be a means of exchange for good and/or services.   For 90+% of the coins on the market today the currency IS the good to buy and sell.

2)  "a deeper level of stability for the coin" -  a currency is a means of exchange however that doesn't insure usage; when you give a coin a specific usage market it stabilizes the coin.  The built-in usage for CCU is to pay tuition at the school.

3)  "you have relevant ancillary data to weigh" - when considering CC investment opportunities relevant data would be: coin price, performance chart, and market cap to name a few, irrelevant data would be the name of the logo designer.  Ancillary data would be info that doesn't originate from the coin but relates to it, like the total number of different coin on the market, or the price of BTC (because it is often tied to your CC at exchanges).

So, because CCU has a built-in means of exchange its core is stronger by design, and because of that design the school's performance is relevant ancillary data that investors should consider.   As the school grows the base of the coin strengthens making the coin as an investment more stable.

Recently I received a question from a developer regarding pay.

Cryptocurrency development is major to us, we see it as the heart of the project.  For that reason we want a team headed up by an experienced well respected lead developer, someone who not only knows how to write code but also can get along well enough with others.

We are seeking to pay the higher range of the compensation scale for the assignment.  As indicated above we pay with CCU, the finalized sum would depend largely on your CC development history and your proposed CCU involvement.

For example, someone that maintains good relationships with coins they have developed is good, but someone known for scam coins is not good; someone who has mentored other developers is good,  but someone wishing to be anonymous is not good;  a final example would be a willingness to teach at CCU.  We want all of our paid leadership to teach at CCU.   Obviously everything counts please feel free to ask what you wish, I will try to answer what I could.

You totally need to get on one of the exchanges if you're really serious about making CCU work as a cryptocurrency. But I like the concept -- one major weakness of many cryptos is that they're on the exchanges but they don't have the retailers involved. If you can seriously make this work, I could probably pull together the materials for the equivalent of Crypto 101 -- What you call Fundamentals of Cyrptocurrency (1001) on another post -- and also Cryptocurrency History (2001)

Commandrix, thanks for your encouraging words, CCU needs ambitious professionals like you.

Remember, CCU (the coin and school) has simply moved from concept to reality, like moving from the 'To Do' list, to assembling the tools and materials to begin the job.   We are currently in talks with two developers, we're trying to make sure we have a proper match.  This project require a greater commitment than a clone-edit-quit project.   If you know of talented developers who might want to be associated with this project please let me know.

Majeis said: "your 'deeper level of stability' is just a in-wallet exchange since whatever pays for the school will translate into btc/fiat", firstly that "just a in-wallet exchange" as you put it, is a deeper level of stability than a 'no in-wallet exchange', but that's not the deeper aspect that I was referring to.  The deeper aspect is the number of times you can turn the currency over/around before it is traded for fiat or btc.  If the school is receiving CCUs as income for tuition, if the school has obligations or debt to pay an d intends to pay that debt with CCUs, the school will very likely hold its CCU to pay its debts.  That steady income, subsequent holding, and subsequent reuse of the coin creates the "deeper level of stability" I was speaking about.   That level of stability is difficult to find in other coins because they don't have a built-in market.

Majeis said: "your 'you have relevant ancillary data to weigh:' uhh, there is no data, since your project doesn't exist.".   CCU is designed to be a purpose-driven coin, once developed CCU will have an actual reason for its existence beyond exchange trading; the specific real purpose usage beyond exchange trading for CCU will be for tuition payment at Cryptocurrency University, that association and usage creates a deeper level of stability for the coin because investors will be able to considered the school's performance (enrollment, tuition) as relevant ancillary data when considering CCU (the coin) for investment.

Your "real purpose" is the exact same as every other coin.

Your "deeper level of stability" is just a in-wallet exchange since whatever pays for the school will translate into btc/fiat.

Your "you have relevant ancillary data to weigh:" uhh, there is no data, since your project doesn't exist.

You haven't refuted anything I've written aside from saying you "disagree emphatically."

You've only rewritten everything in your 1,2,3 list again.

Also, how can debts be paid by the school if it's holding its assets?

Quote
the school will very likely hold its CCU to pay its debts

Aren't debts paid by releasing assets for equity? Perhaps you should enroll in an economics class before running your own "university."

Cash is an asset; furthermore cash is the most liquid asset there is.

For Cryptocurrency University's CCU will be their cash.

In the case I outlined above the instructors are paid with CCUs (cash).

That comparison alone is enough /thread.

Good luck trying to be an organizer of a project you don't fully understand.

If you understand that the primary purpose of currency (beit fiat, or crypto) is to use to pay for goods or services,
and if you understand that CCU will be a cryptocurrency,  then you should also understand that it will be used to pay
for the professional teaching services provided by Cryptocurrency University instructors.

If you know of talented developers who might want to be associated with this project please let me know.

regards

Unfortunately I don't know any developers personally, but I'm sure there are plenty of Cryptocurrency experts right here on this board who would be happy to help you out (for a price). Let me know when you have it ready, and if I'm not too busy with other commitments (I'm involved in something that I might or might not make the cut), I'll be happy to help.
