So I currently have two cards, and have been mining for a few months now. I have a 6870 and a 5870. I usually use phoenix to mine at 450-460MH/s with my 5870 and 310-315MH/s with my 6870. I use phatk2 for my 6870 and it works just fine, but I can't seem to get the same speeds with phatk2 on my 5870 as with phatk. Since phoenix 2 seems to be dropping support for phatk because it "is outperformed by phatk2 for every card tested" I'd like to ask how...with what settings does phatk2 outperform phatk on a 5870. I would quote the post in the phoenix 2 beta thread, but I'm a newbie, so I came here.

I realize that a lot of this also has to do with the stream sdk, driver, and catalyst version I am using. Currently on driver version 8.92-111109a-129966C, stream sdk 2.6, and catalyst 11.12. When I first installed this OS I tried to install the older 11.10 catalyst suite, but that just resulted in nothing working. I uninstalled the new drivers, ran driver sweeper, ran ccleaner, and installed 11.10. Didn't work. I got the best performance back then though with phatk2. 460MH/s on my 5870.

Basically, what my question comes down to is, how can I use phatk2 to get good speeds on drivers that work? I'm obviously doing something wrong when I attempt to roll back, because it just doesn't work, so if someone can tell me how to get old drivers to work that would solve my problem as well. Another option, which would be easier, would be to tell me which settings give optimal performance on phatk2 with catalyst 11.12. Thanks for the help guys, I'm just trying to keep up with phoenix as it moves towards bigger and better things.
