I fail to understand the purpose of coinjoin. DGW maybe good, but it's not now known how it works.

Darksend' -- A technology used to overcome a deficiency which's not a major concern for 99% of people and can be fixed by a simple proxy since protocol analysis and IP tracking is the root of the problem -- otherwise the wallet addresses itself are completely anonymous.

If the protocols would've simply had TSL encryption support, protocol snooping whould've been killed, killing the root of the problem.

But the developer decided to implement other complicated ways.

As of KGW, DGW etc.. etc... etc... intelligently crafted (but not complicated) block re-targets and fast block times (like 1 minute or still better -- 30 seconds) like that of Quarks is enough to prevent intamine and multipool issues. These complicated algorithms increase surface of security vulnerabilities like what happened with KGW -- the same can happen with DGW.

So, darkcoin IMO, is just a hype which'll pass by. Like Auroracoin.

I'm open to discussion on this.

Mindless criticism means you owe a lot of stake in DRK. And are planning to dump it at high prices. I had my eye on DRK, I knew it would succeed cause it was different, had different goals etc... but neither had the money nor hashing power to mine.

Problem is -- what coinjoin does is completely public. It's known what it does, and what it has done can be seen on the block chain. The concept is a fail.

The only solution is encrypted connections.

Bitcoin is already anonymous enough for the majority of people - Darkcoin is different - but for the majority 99.9% that is a useless feature - and it is why Darkcoin has been crashing lately. Curecoin on the other hand is a true 3.0 currency work towards using the hashing power for something useful!

The "easy" part of the job is to obfuscate things to a degree that it is virtually impossible for 99.99% of the people to "see through" the obfuscation layer. This can allow for a practical degree of anonymity/privacy.

So for Bitcoin it's 99.9% of the people, for DRK it's 99.99%.

Problem is -- once we get a blockchain analysis software, the analysis is pretty easy either it be coinjoin or Bitcoin classic.

yeah but folding is not that good(your cpu will be used at 50% with just two vga, you can't do shit with your rig), they should have aimed at something else, for gpu, like a new asic-proof algo or just x13
