Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Be weary when buying.

User PM'd me saying bidding was going slow and my 0.8 bid was the winner.

And sent his bitcoin address and told me to send money.

Pretty sure he's trying to scam. Use Escrow.

Are you sure it was the OP?
It is a comon scam on btctalk to make new account similars to OP auctions users and send PM's asking for money.

OP told me I won for 1.6BTC... I was waiting on the coins to deposit but haven't heard back.
This whole auction thread is looking highly suspect.

Would avoid bidding/paying anything until something further is said from author of OP

OP hasn't been here since June 2nd, so it's highly likely he was hoping for a quick buy it now or high bid purchase without escrow:

Usually you'd want to check in on an auction or sale, provide a bump, or just say time remaining, high bidder, etc..

Likelihood of this being a scam auction looks high.

Yes it was a scam. Buyer told me along with 2-4 other people that we won and to send money. I guess when he got nothing he left or maybe someone sent him something??

Either way, SCAM
