i really hope citi doesn't consider it a big threat.. they'll group up with their banking compatriots and buy the shit out of washington, and the magically all of a sudden.. a majority of our elected officials will be absolutely against bitcoin.

Citi: Bitcoin a Threat to Debit and Credit Card Issuers
http://www.coindesk.com/citi-bitcoin-debit-credit-card-issuers/

No shit, I pay with my Android app, scan the code, type amount and hit send way faster than pay with a card. I happen to be in a country where they only accept cards with PIN+Signature too... very annoying.

They will do that either way unfortunately. Mastercard has all ready hired lobbyists to do it.

there was a post on this forum about it a week or so ago. you can just google it yourself.

i don't know how much swing they have though, and how much support btc truly has in congress. we need our own lobbyists after all.

since satoshi is worth so much, it wouldn't hurt to see him drop a few million to win some "lawmakers" over, and pay them in btc.. so that htey have a stake in it, which means they'd less likely turn on bitcoin.

i guess the power players that we have (the big guys who own a shit ton of bitcoins) will be our guardians.. not necessarily because they care about bitcoin or the cause, but because they have so much at stake.
