it already happened when bitcoin was created; 1 satoshi was worth all possible numbers in dollars at once. then it overflowed to zero, and started slowly rising.

Wohoooo, I'm an Earthionnaire! so here's a sad analysis why you are not..! there are so many people around here who own more than 1 satoshi and if most of them wants to trade their 1satoshi with earth the value of earth will eventually go up high and beyond the reach :p totally absurd but this is what this thread is about..!

There are approximately 10^24 stars in the universe total, so by that count, 10^24 / (100000000 * 21000000) -> 1 satoshi can buy you 476 million stars. Buying in bulk, since most will have no inhabitable planets but I'm sure you can still use them for energy. So buy yours before the closer ones are all taken! Would be sad owning 500 million stars and all of them million or more lightyears away PS I buy Sun and 475,999,999 crappy ones, just because I have nostalgic attachments to it and the location is good.

I think this is quite a realistic scenario - when will it happen?
Assuming you mean when the dollar is worth almost zero, when is anyone's guess. Of course if the dollar ever becomes totally worthless, a satoshi will be worth a lot more than $1t. Its dollar value will be infinite. For the foreseeable future though, I'd be happy for a satoshi to be worth a penny.

Actually... one satoshi has like a 99.999999999% chance of becoming worth 1T.. the dollar is worth less every day.. it's followed that trend for over 100 years.. there is no reason to believe it will stop. EVENTUALLY, 1 satoshi will be worth 1T unless the USD competely collapses before then.

OR unless Bitcoin's value plummets to zero before the USD (not saying it's likely to happen, but the possibility always exists)

I think this is quite a realistic scenario - when will it happen?
By the year 2100. At that point a loaf of bread will cost around $100 trillion dollars. So that trillion dollars will be equal to a penny today. I expect a satoshi to be worth over a penny (today's value) within two decades. In fact, I think there is a 50/50 chance that a single bitcoin will be worth over a million dollars by the year 2020. Mining would then be a $657 billion dollar operation (365*24*6*12.5* $1 million), which would still be less than the cost of running the old fiat empire after you factor in losses due to inflation.
