As some of you may know, the HD 7770 and 7750 are due to come out in the new few days.. Just today GPUZ screenshots were posted here: http://www.techpowerup.com/160434/Radeon-HD-7770-Specifications-Confirmed-in-GPU-Z-Screenshot.html

They show that the HD 7770 will have 640 VLIW4 shaders clocked at 1000MHz<, vs HD5770/6770 which have 800 VLIW5 (older?) shaders clocked around 900MHz..

This topic of discussion is purely speculation for now, but I'm wondering what people think this new HD 7770 MHs might be considering the difference in architecture, shader count and core clock (assuming 5770/6770 OCs to 1000MHz, and 7770 OCs to 1100MHz)?..

Some food for thought:     -Will perform less than a 5770/6770 IMO ... dont know y AMD is doing this ... :-

-not really, if anything this will perform equal to 6770 and 5770 but with better power consumption and a smaller die size(cheaper)
this will have 640 GCN cores while 6770 and 5770 used the old vliw5 which had 10cu's aswell(except vliw5 has 80 stream processors per cu totaling 800 while vliw4 and gcn has 64 yet perform better than the vliw5's 80)
add to that the 28nm node which will allow higher frequencies then you are talking well over 20% performance boast at stock, and well under 100watt tdp (5770 if im not mistaken was in the 150watt range)-

It'll equal the 5770/6770 if it can hit 1250 on the core or higher... and as we have seen, the 28nm process has been an overclocking monster on the 7970 cards (1100, 1200, 1300 on some cards.)

So... who knows.

Yeah I think this might become my new gaming/mining card once the price drops to reasonable levels.

Based on my architectural analysis and 7970 performance, it'll be around 200 MH/s at ref clocks.
