It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

The Insurance Company needs to calculate what the demand/value would be if x% of international/national trade were conducted in BTC. Then we would know where we're at.

Hmm... good news. But I am a bit skeptical as well. Unlike the fiat business, Bitcoin-based business can be a lot more riskier. There is constant risk of wallet robberies and hacks.

This is telling. Insurance companies are some of the best in the world at evaluating risk and future growth. This is a subtle but big bullish sign if these guys see bit coin as a long term safe investment.

Offering insurance coverage for Bitcoins and Bitcoin-related business doesn't mean that the insurance giants are viewing it as a long term safe investment. But overall, it is a positive development for Bitcoin.

Maybe. As of now, the article states, that this coverage is only offered as an endorsement (rider) to a policy. Not offered as a stand alone policy.

You can cover great distances in big or small steps, the only difference is the amount of time it takes.
