Citi Bank cites Dogecoin as a "significant" cryptocurrency in its new report on disruptive technologies.
Edit: They are primarily referring to a significant number of transactions.
The source report is a .pdf, so here is a link to the Reddit thread:

DISRUPTIVE INNOVATIONS II
Ten More Things to Stop and Think About
This is the source .pdf on citi.com

I like DOGE for the laughs and harmless fun. It is also amusing when people take it real seriously.  Cheesy

Edit:
What do you think?
Is DOGE a "significant" cryptocurrency?

Yes, on page 19:
...Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Blackcoin are significant as well...
I found this on /r/dogecoin/ and the person there decided to "feature" only Dogecoin in the thread title.

Not sure if blackcoin deserves to be called a "significant" cryptocurrency, but DOGE had massive, positive TV time during NASCAR so the status was earned, imo.

You are misreporting the statement. CitiBank called the TRANSACTIONS made in those crypto currencies "significant". They were not reffering to the currencies themselves.

Thank you for pointing that out:
I edited the OP for more accuracy; The title is from a Reddit user and has not been changed.
