50 Cent’s Shopify store will accept bitcoin payments for the new release, with BitPay acting as the payments processor.
So that is very cool I think more and more artists are accepting bitcoins.

I think alot of people have grown up with 50 cents music like his song in da club.
But what would be really cool, if they give the people that buy bitcoin a signed copy of his album.

just something like that so it would also attract new people to Bitcoin.
Or do you think this news will just make people buy bitcoin that listen to 50 cent?

Well he's not really accepting bitcoins is he? He's accepting cash, and letting you give him cash via BitPay.

hang on.. 50cents is not accepting bitcoin. Shopify is accepting a bank wire transfer from bitpay, and then passing 50cent his royalties cheque in dollars..

Oh that actually sucks, I tought he himself accepted it.
But atleast it's a step in the right direction if every artist would be accepting bitcoins.
Some use bitpay, some may even store them.
But i dont think it attracts alot of new people to bitcoin.
But a few everytime is also good I guess.

Just like if someone were to pay in Euros, it would be converted to dollars before reaching him.

No, he is actually accepting bitcoin.

Just like if someone were to pay in Euros, it would be converted to dollars before reaching him.

no HE is not. HE never has a personal bitcoin wallet.

his recording company ( Caroline Records and Capitol Records ) does not have a bitcoin address.

shopify, may or may not choose to keep a percentage of bitcoins. but knowing their business model in regards to paying royalties to the record company/artist. i dont think they keep much bitcoin if any.

Well, it is a start - and better than nothing. Now.... if someone could point him to some 'services' he would enjoy where he could use bitcoins, maybe he would just keep them and use them.

Now this is really cool news. I love 50's first album - "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" doesn't have a bad song on it. He may be just another mainstream rapper by now, but he has a VERY good business sense and this doesn't surprise me at all. There's no downside to accepting Bitcoin for your work - in fact, you will only get good press and more buyers.
