Where you ever taught about this event in history when the government sent tanks in to break up a protest?

When the soldiers in gas masks gassed the protesters:

Did they teach you about Tiananmen Square in school but not the US response to the Bonus Army protest?

This one is news to me never heard of the bonus army protestors
Seems like a logical course of action for the soldiers to want their wages and an attack from the government
It does serve as a pleasant reminder that all countries have a side of history they don't want to come to light

I live in Europe, So I havent heard of this at all.
However I only did highschool, so maybe if you went to college or university you wouldve learned about it.

Maybe you could teach us about this history?
Because if I seach on google for the Tiananmen Square I only find things about the Square in China?
Nothing about something that happened in the US

Heard about this one from the daily show, yes, politicians love to talk about how much they care for U.S army veterans but when it comes down to it they're one of the most screwed over people out their next to children who can't vote, of course, most people don't know this because the media groups barely talk about it.

Only in Hong Kong the activists are being allowed to hold commemoration ceremonies. They are banned everywhere in mainland China. The people are even afraid to go out and mark a few minutes of silence.

Actually yes. When I was in middle school, we learned about that.

However, there is a big difference between removing protestors from an area and trying to kill all of them.

I learned about it in middle school, also. Yup, definitely banned in China. I think you could get fines and then sent to prison there. Due to the introduction of chat rooms, and vpns, I think some people use code words for it to chat, if that's still going on.

Actually yes. When I was in middle school, we learned about that.

However, there is a big difference between removing protestors from an area and trying to kill all of them.

The intention behind the gov response to the Bonus Army protests and that of the Chinese to Tiananmen wasn't very different.
Both saw the protests as PR disasters, they let them stay for a while, until they decided it was enough, and ordered them out.
Protesters resisted, and death followed.

I all fairness, I did learn about the bonus marchers in grade school. But they certainly did leave out a lot of other stuff.
