I need this loan of 0.03 BTC to practice some trading and rent a little mining power.

I will return 0.04 BTC to you within 5 days.

I have positive trust feedback from previous loans of a similar size. I have no collateral available.

This loan has been provided.

Please post here and pm me if you are interested in providing this loan.

What exactly is your reason for looking for a loan ?
This seems a lot like a reputation builder , short time , small amount , no seeming reason.

No longer active on bitcointalk, however, you can still reach me via PMs if needed.

Isn't it funny how your loan requests just keep on getting bigger and bigger?
Once it gets big enough, what can we do to stop you from running away with the bitcoins?   Roll Eyes

I wouldn't recommend lending to Prolifik.  Even if h/she is paying back at this moment, what can he/she do to guarantee repayment in the future, for bigger loans, no collateral provided?

No collateral available.  I'm not doing this to gain rep.

I only ask for loans that are within my ability to repay.

It is generally a good idea to make a note of all the details on the thread such that they are permanently stored , such as time , date of return , interest rate , amount lent , amount to be returned.

If you PM a scammer about changed rates and both of you delete the PM , it will be removed from all records. Then he can revert back to old rates and scam. ( I am not accusing you of being a scammer , just highlighting a possibility and why a public notice is better)

No longer active on bitcointalk, however, you can still reach me via PMs if needed.

And this is why you make the terms first before lending. There's nothing written anywhere that if he pays late, what the consequences are going to be. Also, this should be a serious red flag:

I have no collateral available.

If he doesn't pay, contact the owner of Luckybit to drop him. And are you sure the day he was supposed to repay was when he got paid?

The request was for 5 days.  If he doesn't pay today hopefully we can work out a reasonable late fee and repayment date.

But I'm hoping he posts at least today.

That way I can get repaid and he can keep his good standing. Everyone wins.

If we rush to neg feedback, then probably everybody loses.

He has probably gained 160lbs, started drinking insane amounts of latte's, and is stowed away somewhere with his loot!

So that was a learning experience to not jump in a loan without fully making the terms, and without collateral. This is what happens when no collateral is involved. There's absolutely no repercussion if he doesn't pay back, or pay back however late he wants.

I was aware of the risk.  I actually have a lending thread where I offer no collateral loans.  Have you seen it?

No sorry haven't seen it amongst the pool of threads from newbies and scammers asking for loans. Recently this loan section has a really bad ratio of legit loans to all the useless noise.

Maybe you can leave the appropriate trust feedback for OP until he decides to pay what he promised to.

That list still won't help. Trusting somebody with a loan without collateral is mostly a 75% chance you'll get scammed from someone without good reputation. And even then, they can still default it. It's not a guarantee if you lend without collateral. What's the point?

2 days late in a 5 days contracts thats nearly 50% over and he didnt pay you anything, you only got back your initial 'investment'. Yeah I would call him a scammer.

Agreed. You should leave negative feedback, I will do the same too. He paid late and didn't pay interest, and there was no communication at all.

Verbal contract within a contract? Scamception if I ever saw it haha.

Just kidding. I'm sure that you have good intentions, but once you have paid the amount due back to the creditor you need to consider realistic terms for any future loans.

Okay it was only a small amount, but imagine if that was a bank you were dealing with, imagine the fat fee they would slap on your account, or debt that they would tarnish your name with. Just because it is a contract formed on a forum doesn't mean that you can take the piss.

People get twitchy around here because there are so many scams that go down - just even a little post or message to let him know that you're still alive would go a long way to calm the paranoia.

Dont make any hasty conclusions, It might be a good guy who pays it back like tomorrow or something. (not that im confident of that)

And yes, if he just would post one message with loan delayed, it would be another situation.
