Let's brag a little.

Now I know most people only hoard their bitcoins as a investment.

But let's see, if people acctually buy something with it. You do not have to give specifics, but share with us, on what the most expensive thing, was.

Most people says, Bitcoin is a gimick {toy money} and nobody would buy something expensive with it. Let's proof them wrong.

If you have acctual proof, it would be better. {Eg. Pointing to a thread or aution in the services section etc. etc.}

Enjoy, the thread, it's just for fun. Cheesy

I bought life with bitcoin! because of my donations to animal rescue, they were able to save a few dogs and cats and now, animals are living happily with their new families. You can't put a price on that

Well for the purpose of this excercise, let's keep to something, physical. Something you can touch.

st4nl3y - Please post a link to that site, I am sure there are others, who would want to donate too. It's a good cause.

I spent 20 BTC on my Minecraft account. i also spent 100 BTC on a VPS that I never used a while back. Smiley

EDIT: Minecraft thread link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4226

EDIT2: My mistake, they were 20 BTC. I think they went up to 30 when he started running out of accounts or something

My most expensive thing was buying the contracts from butterfly labs.
Those where only 10 dollar per contract, so I havent spend alot yet, however all those little expenses keep counting up.

But im thinking about to invest some of my bitcoins in to some weed.
So I can smoke whenever I want and also have alot of friends I can sell some to.

Why and how did you spend 30btc on Minecraft?

I edited my post with the link to the thread. At the time I believe Bitcoins were about a dollar. This guy was selling Alpha accounts, which meant that you wouldn't have to pay again for Minecraft after the beta was over or something. I also bought multiple accounts for friends too. Probably spent around 120 BTC through PM's with this guy, all on Minecraft accounts, haha.

Television from tiger-direct.com
Canon DSLR from Overstock.com
Annual newspaper subscription from the Chicago Sun-Times.

They all use BitPay or Coinbase to handle the transactions, so I didn't need to get gift certificates or negotiate with any one else.  I just paid with bitcoins on the website when I finished my order.

If you can, please add the cost. {Eg. It cost 2BTC and at the time was worth $4000}

Would give us an idea, of how much it was.

DannyHamilton - You have "Brag" rights so far. Biggest object bought with Crypto Currency. Thanks for sharing.

Bitcoin + Gyft --> Amazon gift cards. I've bought quite a bit. Biggest single purchase was probably the Volcano Vaporizer -- classic solid valve system. $550 or thereabouts. Very happy. Cheesy

The only "things" I have bought are the alt cryptos and the most expensive one was the "42 coin".
