Could people here who really know about anon transactions take a look at this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=624017.msg7133592#msg7133592

I don't know enough to say if this is BS or if they really have something.

It would be pretty funny if some silly color-coin memed around girls in pink hot pants actually pulled off what Dark and XC (+ that scamcoin Cryptcoin) have been fighting about all this time. Stranger things have happened, I guess.  It looks like real programmers might have taken over from pump/dump scam crew that originally set-up the coin but kept the meme thing going.

I am more on the investment side; I was in Dark but (lucklily, considering today's charts) dumped out after all that drama from yesterday.

I checked.  The bright pink makes my soul hurt.  The whole thing looks like something made by Japanese school girls.  Very very smart Japanese school girls. I think they hit it out of the park.  We need experts to pull their system apart and see if there are any holes.

A truly anonymous coin would reveal no address balances on the blockchain. Simple as that. If knowing your WhateverCoin address means I know your balance, that already reduces your privacy.

Also, anything that involves swapping makes it really easy to reduce the anonymity set. If I send 1.3145 WhateverCoins and within the space of a couple of minutes an address receives 1.3145 WhateverCoins, then it's a pretty reasonable assumption that those two are related. The only way you prevent this is by making it impossible to determine address balances from the blockchain alone.
