what did not work ? you should be able to download the binary ?
I am 99% certain I did this, and did not have t compile. have you looked on bitcoin.org ?
and I dont just mean 'apt-get install bitcoin'

you should just be able to download tar, untip and ./bitcoin-qt

but yeah exactly what the problem is would help.

What exactly do you need help with? are you saying you've set it up and it's not working or...?

If that's the case then I had the same issue when I did it some time back, add a firewall rules for port 8333 (TCP).

Also remember to enable the firewall NOT to ask for user confirmation...unless you plan to sit on the computer 24/7 Tongue
