Good day everyone,

We are currently in the process of reaching out to the community as part of an effort to leverage CGB's unique position and talent pool into our "on the ground" efforts. It will be very difficult in one brief post to catch you all up on where CGB is at and why we need more help. Let me quote from the CGB Core Team Weekly Update of June 4, 2014:

Quote
Our intent is to position CGB as a leader in the facilitation of cryptocurrency adoption at businesses with physical establishments. This means that CGB will have to be more than just a currency, it will have to come wrapped in a suite of tools and services which allow it to adapt to any use case. With this relationship under constant development, CGB will become part of the foundation used to build each CryptoTown, as could any cryptocoin project that wishes to participate to such an extent. This vision can only be achieved through a meaningful commitment by talented individuals throughout the cryptosphere and, as we have discussed, through an expansion of the CGB Core Team. There is a very large amount of work to be done and we believe it could optimally be handled by an additional 3 developers. We hope to create a collaborative environment which is even more inclusive than our current structure and a new organizational chart will be developed to this effect to better express the ways in which talented individuals may help out.

While we don't expect these positions to be filled immediately, we are appealing to the entire cryptosphere in the hopes of attracting candidates looking to help lead the charge with us. In addition to a CGB-CryptoTown tool developer, we wish to dedicate efforts to GUI and usability amongst our tool suite (with focus on the wallet software). Also, our community has put forth many excellent ideas which have been captured and assessed, but we have lacked the resources required to begin implementation. This includes changes to CGB's core protocol and client software capabilities. We would gladly welcome skilled candidates who are able to work on this or the other areas of development.

This recent push hinges on the CryptoTown On The Ground project which aims to create a feedback loop between software and protocol (deployment and use) development and the ongoing face-to-face adoption efforts "on the ground." We believe this to be the next logical step for the cryptosphere as a whole. Let's make it happen!

Interested developers (or other talent) are asked to reply with interest or questions. Feel free to PM myself or elambert if preferred.

Guys, even if you have your own projects that you may feel are in competition with CGB, please reach out. The Crytpto Town project is not tied to any specific crypto (this is left to the prospective merchant) and is a necessity to promote real world adoption of crypto-currencies. Looking forward to working with the whole community on this.

Crossposting relevant from Contests and Countdown to CGB's 1st birthday! Only 15 days!!!

Just in case you wondered, there were 5040 possible combinations.  Grin

I patched the wallet to find the right one.

I wrote a Java key assembler - but my wallet PC let me down - took a fair few minutes to import the assembled private key by which time the coins had already gone  Cry

yes, it took quiet a while to import the new private key. Maybe CGB should switch to leveldb?  Huh

We hope to be able to attract the talent required to put CGB back on the cutting edge client-wise. I feel that our best shot at doing so is simply to bring CGB to the front of the world stage as we develop the next movement to really push all cryptos, not only CGB, into real world use, through our ongoing development with the CryptoTown project. We have a lot of momentum built, it will be leveraged to this effect. Once the real community excitement arrives, we should be able to better attract such talent.
