 I don't know if I was hacked or what, Turned on computer checked email don't think I opened anything, check Bitcoin prices closed all windows logged off. Last thing I saw was installing updates, nothing strange there happen a couple times a week sometimes not at all for a week I have my updates set to only install important updates. Anyway I got home turned on my computer and all I got was a black screen with the words in plain text "No Operating system". I didn't have a fortune but enough to make me want to throw things. My computer 2 1/2 years old and never crashed, I run Norton 360 and as far as I know it's done a good job. I put the password in a encrypted partition, gone...I have the wallet info file,and the wallet cipher file but since I created the wallet to hold funds for 48 hours or so I wasn't as diligent and accidentally backed up the shortcut, (probably 'cause I did it then went straight to bed) can I recover this wallet?

Are you booting from right partition? Check BIOS.

I think the hard drive is at fault here. Either it's died or is disconnected from the computer.
If it's a desktop computer, you could try opening it and checking the cables haven't come loose on the hard drive.
The hard-drive is safe to touch by hand, just unplug the main power cable before opening the computer. Don't touch the motherboard.

 Hard drive is working fine did a factory re-install and haven't had a problem since. This happened a month or so after I opened the architecture to clean with compressed air. Just took my Micosoft C+ cert class as part of my AS degree. The files I have list as
Multibit-keyfile#.info
Multibit-keyfile#.wallet.cipher
obviously it doesn't say key file it gave the key file number

How do I use this information to recover my wallet, if information provided helps recover wallet I'd pay a modest bounty there's only a couple of hundred in it at today's prices, so like fifty bucks. Not bad for some instructions. Searched the C drive but like I said in my opening post it was like some one wiped my computer, or a large magnet got to close I don't know if the magnet in the JVC bass speaker for the sound is powerful enough but I can't imagine why someone would pick it up off the floor and set it on the architecture.

The ".info" file is just "description of the wallet and the labels you have given to your addresses". So it doesn't sound like that file is going to help.

As for the ".cipher" file, according to that site:

When you add a password to a wallet all the unencrypted wallet backups are encrypted with the password you have chosen. These files are stored as ''saving-YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.wallet.cipher'. You can open these files as normal using the 'File | Open Wallet' menu option. When you do you will be asked for the wallet password to decrypt the wallet.

you can still recover it without issue.. if it's a 2.5" (lapto) hard drive, you can buy an enclosure for $5 or so.. or if it's a desktop hard drive, you can hook it up to another computer.

then again, you might be experiencing hard drive failure, in which case you'd be SOL.
