Have to start somewhere and people are looking for ways to use bitcoins that arent an exchange We also respect your privacy and do not claim anything on our server (in your folder) is ours, unlike the free competition Really it's $5 paid in btc equivalent, but with the low BTC atm early adoptors get a bonus

would you describe some scenarios where this service might be useful?

HTTPS ?
SFTP ?
Encryption of the uploaded data ?
Ideally I would like to see data encryption where only the user can decrypt, not your service, which protects the ISP's, datacenters, you, your service, and the end users. You can't cough up what you dont have access to, etc.

Upgraded our server's storage, now all plans come with 10 GB+ Storage
would you describe some scenarios where this service might be useful? Well, CrownCloud has many uses : 1. Backup your media (Songs, Videos) etc 2. Backup your data (Well, you could encrypt them and upload) 3. Use as a backup for your websites, store your website's backups on CrownCloud, By backing up your sites on our service you can easily change providers if the provider goes down or you want to move your files from one host to another. 4. Store your photos to share with others. 5. Store documents as they can be viewed and edited directly from the online desktop (Only MS Office 2003 and older format)

Well, You could encrypt files and then upload them, that way you are the only one who has access to the file ? You could use these 2 free tools to use encrypt the files : You could use 7-ZIP to encrypt the files : http://www.7-zip.org/Encrypting on 7-Zip : or AxCrypt, http://www.axantum.com/AxCrypt/Default.html

Hmm.. We'll have to look into a solution like that, but again its truly up to the client if he wishes to encrypt and then upload or just upload the file depending on the value of the file to the client.

It's fast becoming the standard with cloud storage and is usually automated in a ftp client married with open PGP/GPG, but ya for barebones services its probably overkill... until a problem ocurrs. My thinking is the problems it actually can prevent or even solve. Like DCMA or State/Gov con concerns, or those pesky NSA letters you cant divulge the existance of under penalty of prison and fines, hacking, theft, and even nosy or criminal data center employees ... not to mention plausuble deniability and no one can open the file but the uploader.
