How safe is BTER?

I`m thinking of depositing some BTC on there and trading.. How safe is it? What are peoples experience with BTER?

It´s no safe at all. The last years someone hacked my e-mail and my bter account. My e-mail get blocked by mail service and i asked bter for my account. I give they all my passwords, ips, transactions, funds, etc and they refuse to give me back my account.

It's been running for about a year and I never had any serious problems with the exchange. It's one of the bigger exchanges and seems pretty secure to me, but then again MtGox got hacked and that was one of the biggest.

They recommend you use 2 factor authentication instead of email for security. That means using both your mobile phone, email and a password. If your email and password gets hacked the attacker still needs your mobile phone to log in.

Bter is as solid as they come.

I would have no problem using them.
Go for it, deposit and trade, it's safe.

Others (3-4 exchanges I tried) don't compare to those two above. But as always and with anything, past success is not a guarantee of the future

Like with any exchange, don't keep coins on there.  Just deposit what you need to trade and withdraw right away.

nothing is safe.

it is always better not to deposit all your coins in an exchange. put most of them in your wallet. so if something happens you wont lose too much.
