Only 1 minor quibble is the worker name is <my email address>_<worker name>.Is there a way to change that? Why is that on Deepbit?

What's wrong with it ?
AFAIR all mining software supports such names just fine.

What I mean is most pools support names that dont reveal email address in hte naming convention you see.The act of revealing email addresses via naming conventions for mining workers is unusual.The pools I've used never used my email address in any naming convention. If I can change that,it'd be perfect.How to change away from using email address for worker name method?

If you read my reply,you'd see that I said it was a minor quibble not a complaint (so I didn't even say it was a big deal at all)

Anyway apart from that minor thing, everything seems to be going well which is a good sign meaning that If I was to have a new main pool,It'd be ozpool (due to high payout per share and low fees)  and my backup pool would be Deepbit as it has demostrated itself to be very reliable which is what's needed if my favoured pool goes down for some reason. Having a strong backup like Deepbit is important for my mining plan. Thanks for all the suggestions guys,it's all been very helpful. :-)

I've tested out the service.Very simple setup. Use of the beta miner gave me much higher performance than the normal bitminter miner.Can someone tell me about what PPLNS model since I only know PPS,OZpools models and prop. I want to know about PPLNS so I can understand it. Thanks.Like the pool.I have option of using my prefered miner if needed so overall a rather simple pool for those who aren't familiar with GUIMiner and the lot.Seems that Bitminters miner gave me about 8.58MHash/s whereas GUIMiner gave me 10.8MHash/s on laptop in win 7,overclocked to the max.

I want to know about PPLNS so I can understand it.

PPLNS is similar to proportional. But instead of paying all shares submitted since the previous block was created, it pays the last N shares, regardless of block boundaries. Some shares get paid 1,2,3,4 times, some not at all.

I chose PPLNS because it is fair, safe from pool hopping, and one of the easier to understand income sharing methods.

BitMinter uses weighted and shift-based PPLNS. Weighted because we don't pay proportional to the number of shares, but the sum of their scores. A share's score is 1/difficulty. A share at low difficulty is worth more because it is more likely to create a block. Grouping shares into "shifts" makes it easier and more efficient to generate live statistics.

In an ideal world,there would be no fees but there would also be no requirement for doing things other than register an account with your prefered pool and run it in GUIMiner and off you go. The 2.5% guy is beaten by my new prefered pool which is only 2% at ozpool but like that it pays more per share than all other pps type pools so Im sticking with Ozcoin.

I've reached a decision on which pool I wish to use.I will stick with Ozpool as my prefered pool and deepbit as a backup pool (due to higher fees than ozpool).
