Nice to see a small pool like Bitlc.net take a stand against ABCPool.co pool hopping its pool.

If Bitlc changed their payout scheme to a non-hoppable one they would not need to take that stand...

The reson for us bringing this to light is cause all the lies told by their pool-ops.
Another reson is also that they've deliberately avoided all of our detection mechanisms to avoid large-scale miners like these (botnets primarily, but also pool-hopping pools).

The third reason is that they ARE having a bad effect on our system, as it's 500-600GH that jumps to us for a few minutes, and then it's gone again. Such spikes are VERY hard to handle for anyone (it's thousands and thousands of simultaneous requests)...

We are aware of that we're still a prop-pool, but that wasn't the reson for us decicing to ban them, it was purely for the better good of the community, site and bitcoin as a currency.

And yes, we are switching from prop to PPLNS, check our previous voting-thread for more info why Smiley
ETA is in a few days.

I already voted in that poll Smiley

PPLNS is a decent system depending on the exact implementation, I'm sure you have acquainted yourself with Meni Rosenfeld's analysis of pool payout schemes.

ABCProxy deserve every bit of heat they are getting for hiding the true nature of their operation from their miners.

Best of luck to you, Jim.
