33 days without a block mined, that means a person can buy up the exchange and nobody can send coins to sell. People should be cautious if this problem is not fixed, wonder if maybe it is deliberate. I still have a lot of 1credit, and support it, but 33 days without a block is not a credible cryptocurrency. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/1cr/

33 days

Technically, the coin isn't broken.  The problem is that the difficulty is currently 344,503, and therefore no one wants to mine it.  You could say the difficulty adjustment algorithm is broken, but there's nothing preventing someone from throwing hashrate at 1CRedit to advance the block chain.

I wanted to correct myself.  I checked and the current difficulty is 97.51098505.  For some reason my pool is reporting it incorrectly.  I am looking into the issue right now.

I posted a note over on 1creditcoin.org requesting help.  Are you up to it?

For sake of conversation:  if the difficulty has jumped from 97.5 to the previously reported 344,503, the only cure is a hard fork after some code work.

I should note that the current difficulty adjustment algo is based on the Kimoto Gravity Well with the Time Warp fix, and uses the last 1024 blocks in its computation.

Per my logs:

2016-08-09 23:28:05 received block 37c2825a528f103cdc5e3fac26ce77a3588f4d572a69ad3a387f3305bee0e2ff
2016-08-09 23:28:05 Difficulty Retarget - Kimoto Gravity Well TW
2016-08-09 23:28:05 PastRateAdjustmentRatio = 1.0484

2016-08-09 23:28:05 After: 1c02a014 0000000002a014dbc3c543fadb829c672b0f9209df55da10db29383c0f4cf699
2016-08-09 23:28:06 Committing 1 changed transactions to coin database...
2016-08-09 23:28:06 SetBestChain: new best=37c2825a528f103cdc5e3fac26ce77a3588f4d572a69ad3a387f3305bee0e2ff  height=50895  log2_work=51.204357  tx=61080  date=2016-08-09 13:07:37 progress=0.998413
2016-08-09 23:28:06 ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED

So in theory, the next block should only be about 5% harder to find than the current block, which had a difficulty of 97.5, so the current block difficulty should be around 102.2.  Of course, that was based on a net hashrate of 845MH/s and the devs only have about 26MH/s of ASICs to throw at it.  Given that, I would have expected to find a block "On Average" in about 5 hours, not 30+ days.

Is there an exploit to KGW w/TW that yielded the previously mentioned difficulty of 344,503?

We have been running with KGW w/TW using 1024 blocks since block 16175...  (check the source on github to verify)

Basically need suggestions and curious what the appetite for doing a hard fork is.   Please, constructive replies only...

Thanks for looking, and posting the correction.  You had us scratching our heads for a bit.

Our pool shows a pretty consistant difficultly around that number.

Will I lose my coins if there's a hard fork?

Nah, we would likely just go back one block - so at most, 1 coin, if you found that previous block.

Gents honestly we are in really good shape I see. We are listed on poloniex - not many coins left there and still many new willing to get there.
My question is, if there is any way we can become a token for coins that are not on poloniex but want to be exchanged there?

Lets do a rebrand or possibly a complete rename/rebrand, contribute towards ideas for the coins future/success.

i can offer 0.1btc for a re-design, complete new ann, with some content writing, just need someone to source me a designer and a writer.

if the dev wishes to spend the 0.1 elsewhere, i can design somewhat, here is my work (clean and simple): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1604526.0

I am in favor of a more professional website with some charts on it (like the one I made to compare BTC and 1CR)
I am also willing to write some content for a new website, but building a website is not something i'm good at.
Also maybe a new logo would be good, a cleaner and less complicated/more recognizable logo
Name is ok and shouldn't be changed.

I am still offerng that 50 1CR bounty for adding us to Coinomi and willing to offer another 50 1CR bounty for someone helping with designing a website. And I am also offering 10 1CR for a logo.

But only if the dev is ok with this, of course.

Dunno if others want to contribute to (one of these) projects ?

This coin has a ton of potential!!!! I would love to see it relaunched with a new website and stuff. You guys should post your donation address (if its already somewhere else on the thread sorry but I didn't see it) for the operation! I'm sure some people like ZimSET and I would be interested.

I want to help with the website design! I want to work in the cryptocurrency world and I am good at web design. I can use wordpress to make it to add a blog (someone else would have to manage the blog though). Basically I want to get working with a team and then gain enough experience to start my own project. I would love to work for 1CR and can deliver a website pretty quickly. I'll take payment (if you want to pay me in 1CR after the website is finished and live to help cover the costs ~around $30 USD for domain and themes~ I'd be very happy, but the experience of designing a website for a crypto is a reward in itself.)

I'm new here on Bitcointalk, but I'm not new to trading, cryptos. I do think I'll want to pass the website off to someone else to manage eventually, and I'll have it set up so Cassey or Chris (or anyone else who has clearance) can add new content to the site.

Now I'm off to learn everything I can about 1CR! Reading through all the past forums.

Ooh... pretty!  I'd be happy to incorporate that.  Need it about 12 differnet ways from Sunday (various sizes, formats, regular and testnet versions, etc.), but I like it.  What does everyone else think?

(See the https://github.com/1credit/1credit and look in:

/src/qt/res/images

to see the various files required.)

Ooh... pretty!

Thanks  Grin I'm sure I can provide it in different image formats. It would be such an honor if one of my designs was somehow used somewhere in the project! What are the favorite color schemes for 1CR?

Also, do you think the word "1CR" or "1Credit" or anything like that should be incorporated on the coin? I'm thinking I should incorporate the number 1 somehow. When i look at other altcoins on Google Images, they usually have the first letter of the coin on its cover.

Play with what you think looks nice.  Check out YACC for what I did.  Get other peoples opinion, I'll go along with what the crowd wants, within reason.

So I did more reading, and it seems that 1CR is more of a gaming credit. With this as inspiration I went back to the drawing boards to attempt a new concept. Something like this is unique because it differs from the traditional circular "coin" logo. I feel that this logo really could help offer new branding to the relaunch.

https://i.imgur.com/l8eGr55.png

Thoughts, criticisms, improvements, etc. let me know! I did have a little trouble on deciding how to format the 1 in the center of the credit, so if anyone has any suggestions for colors or anything like that, I'm all ears.

Also, the credits are grouped just for show in this picture. Of course they can easily stand alone.

And looking at it now I can tell that the 1 isn't perfectly centered. I will fix that for mockup #2 after hearing feedback.
