Gabriel Prokofiev is a London based DJ who is a friend of mine. He staying with me last week and, as always, he was impressive. Here is some of his awesome mix of classical and electronica. His grandfather was Sergie Prokofiev, a very famous composer.

 Another knockout for dubstep.

Warning for dubstep fans - this may be too hard for you to handle.

I seriously can't believe anyone without brain damage takes pleasure from dubstep.

Maybe I don't do enough ketamine.

I like just about every genre except for country

but my favorite is music with lots of bass and dubstep has tons of bass

I've also noticed that if someone has a shit sound system they don't like dubstep because well it sounds like shit on a shit system

I've got 2 15in subs and 2 12in subs in my room that pool around 800 watts
and it sounds amazing!

The age of traditional instruments is coming to an end. No instrument can produce as many sounds as the computer. DUBstep is the future of music.

No....
I don't like my system because its loud.... thats a plus but the reason I like it is because of the sound quality....
without good subs there is alot of the audio waves your missing out on and this is why dubstep sucks if your not listening to it with the right equipment.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subwoofer#Frequency_range_and_frequency_response

Heres a little info on frequency range....

I understand speakers and sound waves. I like my 10" sunfire sub...it's doesn't cost a fortune, but it's tight enough for my purposes.

I bet my bass cabinet could hang with your subs... 1x15" and 2x10" with a 600w head.

The quality of the equipment you use makes a big difference. I got the logitech Z5500 and a XFI titanium sound card. DUBstep is amazing when you can feel it instead of just hearing it.

However good the quality of the equipment, there is still massive loss from an instrument to digitization. A $30,000 Gibson guitar in person is always going to sound better than that same guitar on a million dollars worth of gear, because there is always a bottleneck...not true of the analog world.

Explain to me how this sounds anything like "the sound your hear as you're getting choked out"

Very true.... however most of the sounds of dubstep are generated by electronic equipment not instruments

Have you ever been choked out? Throw in a beat and it sounds pretty similar to the stretch just before you slip into unconsciousness.
