I ordered a steak and eggs benedict at a local pancake house while on my lunch break. I brought in a laptop with me because my job requires spending a significant amount of time working with clients in the community.
I was only a third of the way through my meal when I went to the bathroom. I brought my laptop with me as it contains confidential information and it would be a breach of ethics to leave it sitting around.
Two minutes later, I walk back to the table to find that my meal and coffee had been cleared and a family had already been seated there. I explained to the waitress what happened and I got sat at a new table. It wasted a good half-hour of my day, but at least I got a free meal to take home as compensation. Lucky for the waitress that I used to be a waiter and understand that bussers often have no idea what's going on in the restaurant
