man these cable companies are getting quite creepy.. there's no limit to the kind of shit they'd be willing to do to sell "airspace" to internet services like netflix. if the new anti-neutrality bill passes, this will become a more and more common occurrence.. the big cable companies would be very, very powerful.

We actually watch netflix more than regular television. I like that they are telling customers the truth. Verizon sucks at broad band.

Netflix must announce that their services will no longer be available to the Verizon subscribers. Let's see out of the two, who the customers will chose. BTW... the choice is pretty simple for me, and it is not Verizon.

Time has come to dump Verizon.  Grin

Good for Netflix. They should have done this when Comcast extorted them into paying for a two tier connection for their customers instead of paying them off. Now they look like a target for the other ISPs. I am about ready to cancel my Comcast subscription, they are very clearly throttling traffic. Vote with your money people, and cancel subscriptions to anti-net neutrality ISPs.

And I was just saying that basically Verizon is looking for a lawsuit simply because Netflix is telling the truth. Any competent computer networking specialist knows that it's possible to prioritize the delivery of data based the type of data (like streaming video as opposed to a PDF file) or block it altogether based on either type or source.

dump verizon, and your only other choice is not really a good one either. verizon would end up winning that kind of battle imo.. in order to use netflix, you need the internet. in order to use the internet, you do not need netflix.

Always knew Verizon is bad. What is the point of denying it when people already know how bad it is?

Of course Verizon won't sue. Any lawsuit opens them up to providing real network traffic data during discovery, and when it turns out they are at anything BUT capacity, the PR shit will hit the fan. Deservedly so.

i don't know what that has to do with this topic. it's not about cable tv. it's about high speed internet, and how verizon is playing fascism with netflix.

I think he is referring to the general trend of moving away from large providers. Verizon also provides television FIOS so in a sense they could be thought of as a cable company.

I was referring to the trend, Roadrunner is common where I live aka time warner. Think they want me watching netflix or the 60$ dollar a month cable they offer?

Exactly. This is one of the reasons they want to restrict bandwidth usage. It was never about slowing the network down for other users.

yeah forgot about that.. they want to force us to pay for cable tv. that's the common trend. people are cancelling their tv subscriptions and just using their internet for watching tv.. which means they can only steal $60 out of your pocket instead of $120, and to make matters worse, it puts more strain on their speeds.

Cancel your subscriptions to comcast and verizon, even if just for one month. Spread the word. WE have the power over them.  Take it.

Other than live sports and international news, I hardly watch TV nowadays.  Grin And I watch sports on TV just because in my area the HD live stream is not readily available. Cable TV is a bit cheaper here, but why pay for it when we almost never watch it?
