Just read this article and found it a little amusing.  Talk about amateur hour if they're not changing the default password on their equipment.  They're just lucky the two kids were honest about it.

I'm not surprised it happened in Canada as I know both Toronto and Montreal are known for a high number of "skimmers", those devices crooks put on top of the card reader slot to capture your data.

I've heard this hack works on many gas station/grocery store ATMs as well. Folks will walk in with a blue collar shirt on to "service" the ATM, get admin control, and change the amount dispensed ($100 for $20 withdrawal). It's fascinating how much trust we give the banks.

If you HODL store it CODL!

It's never been hard to hack an ATM. And, of course, there are outright robbers who don't want to go through the trouble and will just point a gun at your head and demand that you withdraw money from the ATM for them. This is why I don't ever use the ATM. Well, that and ATM fees.

Are we talking about those ghetto looking machines in the convenience store? Or my bank's ATM? I never touch the former -- hell, some of those are just fakes to swipe your bank information.
