Hey everyone..I'm obviously incredibly new but I was on a different forum and some guy there provided an eBook that would "make me tons of money" which obviously didn't work..one of the links he provided was for a website with like 40 faucets. I have been consistently on it for like a week and a half now and haven't even gotten close to a daggone bitcoin. He told me when I get to one, I can sell it using paypal for the current selling price at preev.com ..I thought it would be great to at least hit $500 but seeing how hard it was to get one whole bitcoin, I lost hope lol. I noticed on one of the websites, this forum was there so I figured I'll ask the experts (everyone here) about bitcoins. I currently can't mine bitcoins because I'm on a laptop and it isn't even a great one at that. But do y'all have a way to get to a whole bitcoin faster? I also did some research and read that exchanging bitcoin for money through paypal isn't really a safe option either so what do y'all suggest? I'm already signed up at qoinpro with the other guy's referral link too lol. I really hope someone can help because I feel completely lost with this whole topic of bitcoin.

If you look at bitcoin as a currency... Work for it! You are not going to get it for free. This isn't a charity or poker play chips, this is real money. Buy a bitcoin or do some jobs that pay out in bitcoin.

You can earn a good amount of Bitcoin in the "Services" section. You can also rent out your signature for Bitcoin too. I get paid .001BTC each quality post I make. If you have any further questions, feel free to drop the question in here, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=645750.0 for a chance to win a Wood Wallet or a free GH/s on CEX.io.

You'll do nothing but waste your time on faucets. The easiest way for you to get some coins is try sell some items for them either on the marketplace here or on a eBay-like site such as cryptothrift. You could also just do small jobs in the real world and buy coins with your earnings.

And yes, PayPal isn't advised as many people just file a PayPal claim and get their money back.

OP, Currently a BTC is worth about $650US. You are asking how to get 1 BTC.

Think of it this way, that is the same as asking how to get about $650USD.

Nobody is going to give you about $650US for doing next to nothing.

The easiest way to get some free bitcoin is from giveaways threads here on this forum. Then, you can also wait until you are a full member here and earn some small change from signature deals. Meanwhile, offer to do work for bitcoin in the services subforum. 1btc is not a small amount anymore, don't expect you can earn that quickly.

I'm sorry you mistaked my post for me asking someone to give me a btc because I didn't. Just asked for actual methods besides a faucet.

No, I am sorry. I did not mean to make it sound as if you were asking, begging for money. I was trying to make a point that you need to look at it in the same way as to how you could come up the equivalent amount of money. Sorry if I did not make that clear.

Okay I completely understand but how you're wording your response makes me seem like I'm not willing to work or I am expecting people to hand it all out to me..I did mention using the faucet for a little over a week and I was consistently checking in to try and build up to a bitcoin. I'm trying to learn as much as I can and that's why I was asking. So if you don't mind me asking, what does buying a bitcoin do? Do I just resell it back? Also on another thread, someone posted three links to microtasks and one of the links, some guy offered 1btc just for using his referral link and signing up. I didn't know if that would be a scam or not which is why I'd rather get another person's feedback, someone with more experience than I..

Bitcoin = money, and so you can't get 1 btc or $650 for free without efforts.
You should forget about faucets, and try selling products or services in bitcoin.

.001BTC No way! No wonder I see people asking about it everywhere.

Hey shorty,
First off, never waste your time with anyone that says they'll make you rich.
Maybe they'll get rich off you, but never the other way around.
And I think that ebook was completely false:
You can't sell on preev. You'd have to somewhere like coinbase/bitpay or localbitcoins.
You can sell any amount that someone's willing to buy. Not just 1BTC. You could sell 0.000001BTC if someone can write a tiny enough check.

You can sell it when the price goes up.
You can also spend it on many different places (http://www.coindesk.com/information/what-can-you-buy-with-bitcoins/)

I believe he was told to sell bitcoin for paypal at preev's rate (not on preev).

It is a bad idea to sell bitcoin for PP, as he will very likely be scammed with chargeback.

If you are trying to make money today (or tomorrow or next week), faucets won't get you far. Consider hitting up the marketplace subforum and selling some goods/services.

I recommended looking in the following sections Project Development Services and Service Discussions. You can find various bounties for helping. Also try and get your posts up and increase your activity then you can get on a signature campaign which details can be found in Marketplace. Last thing stay away from gambling section  Wink

You got that right. Many bitcoiners have lost their stash this very way. If you do gamble -- have a plan, and don't chase your losses....

You should sell some stuff in the market (with escrow) to gain some bitcoins, or rent your signature after you reach a decent forum status.

It is nice to see that members now often answer that you need to exchange something of value to get any bitcoins

Meanwhile, offer to do work for bitcoin in the services subforum. 1btc is not a small amount anymore, don't expect you can earn that quickly.

I would say you do the exact same thing with it as if you earned it on a faucet.

You can keep it as a way of saving and enjoy a nice appreciation in value when the USD will plunge with the western financial industry within 3years
