Yeh, according to your twitter you did have a spread bet, and no moneyline bet, for the second game though? "Colombia -0.5 against Uruguay @BetcoinAG"

And my question was about Jaybird's pick because he said he won with Brazil, so seems to me he had:
- "to qualify", which is not a moneyline bet as a moneyline bet is on the winner of a 90min game
- "home and draw", which is against the rules because it picks "2 out of 3 sides" and according to the rules you should pick 1 side

Anyway, if you did have a spread bet in the second game you would only win it with the new rules. So in the end it would mean that at least the 3 of us would have 2 points with "old rules" and 4 points with "new rules". So it seems fair to me?

But I agree perhaps it should have been more clear from the beginning what would be included. Also with that whole HCP Draw thing as you can probably understand that for me with only Asian Handicap it was bit harder hehe Tongue

@Benjig : Exactly.

About my bet , as a chilean I can say that Chile plays a lot against brazil and this is the first time we have a team that can beat brazil. Our problem is that chilean team has no sustitutions , so it was logic to think that brazil would play with chileans fatigue and force the ET.

btw im very sad but proud about my team

@NLNico : My both bets are winning and valid according the rules.

I took as reference bthomas bets.

He made a one of this bets and was considered valid.

5.  Select a winning moneyline wager from Group E      06/19/2014   Switzerland v France   6/20/2014 12:00:00 PM   Asian Handicap   10.00   1.77   17.70   Won   4352

About win/draw rules doesnt prohibit that.

"- A player cannot wager on both sides of the same game during any round"

says "both sides" (home and away I guess)

A FAQ section or more details would be so useful

Lol, "Asian Handicap" is no way allowed as money line wager. "Asian Handicap" is the best example of spread betting. So both your and bthomas' bet are invalid.

Like I said, you, Jaybird and me, would have 2 points with the official stricter "old rule". And 4 points with the "winning team" rule. I would say better just follow the rule of betting on "the winning team" in play-offs?

edit: that bet of bthomas8 was even exactly the same as he used on "spread bet wager from Group E" lol. I assume that he didn't get points for that.
edit2: bthomas8 also used a ML bet for "spread bet wager from Group A" so I assume that isn't counted either. bthomas8 should have 16 points without games of last night AFAIK.

I'm not an expert , but I googled moneyline and bwin showed "bet for a winning team" , and then I saw that valid bet of bthomas and trusted that its correct too (and pays more in some cases). In Asian handicap you bet for a winning team too , right?Huh??

Whatever, I agree with starting playoffs again (or giving the points to everybody, is the same) now with clear rules :

- Only qualified team bets?
- Win/draw allowed ?
- Asian handicap allowed ?

In my opinion this first 2 matches must be void and the next ones only consider the "TO QUALIFY" bet , finally that is what you want to us to do.

Moneyline bet is when you make a bet such as

Team A = -360
Team B = +280
or 3 Way with the options without a spread. Brazil/Colombia/Draw
Brazil to advance is a moneyline bet. We should stick to the rules. The rule said moneyline wager.

Spread bet is Asian Handicap stuff with
Team A +1.5
Team B -1.5

If we stick to the rules to advance it is not a moneyline bet.

In some cases a team advances even losing the match, thats why the rules should be modified and first playoffs matches voided

If you think , all who bet to draw lost an oportunity of making a "points winning" bet and players who bet to winning team had the advantage of winning if draw too

Team to advance is an obvious moneyline bet. When you make a bet in the NHL playoffs for a team to win it's a ML bet. It's the same as the team to advance. But you can also make regulation time moneyline bets that would include draws. It's the same in all sports.

There are no advantages. The draw may have been the best play or a strategic play. You can also make money line bets for halftimes. The rules didn't make it clear so all of these bets should count until the rules are changed.

For the knockout round, you simply have to pick the team that wins the game and place a money line wager on that team to earn the points.  The wager may not win because of soccer overtime and penalty kick rules but the winning team will earn you the points.

Draw is a loser. You needed a bet on Brazil according to Betcoin's post above.

I placed the winning moneyline before he explained this new rule. It must be a consideration.

I understand you bet to brazil and LOST the bet and will try to defend this unfair move, but this rule was not written , rule said WINNING MONEYLINE , not winning team.

thanks

edit : Jaybird , OFCOURSE all people who bet to draw (in colombia uruguay for example) had a huge disadvantage , they bet with 0% posibility of winning making a valid bet sticking to the rules.

I bet Brazil to advance. It was a winner. I don't think that you understand moneyline bets.

You didnt understand.

Rules say winning moneyline . I dont get your point.

Its like " you all have to presume that winning moneyline excludes draws and if you hit the draw and win ur moneyline u still losing". OK , I can play like that but explain BEFORE the playoffs start

The rules were wrong , it must say "pick a qualifying team for X match" simple as that

Your draw bet should be a winner and my Brazil to advance should be a winner. They are both moneyline bets. Neither of us should be penalized since we followed the rules as listed. My moneyline half time play should also be a winner in the Mexico game. The new rules should start Monday.

Of course , we must win or lose because of our betting decisions, not because of rules related things.

I hope all participants are reading this so we can be informed quickly.

To clarify, in soccer wagering for most moneyline wagers if a team does not win the match prior to overtime or a penalty shootout, the wager is graded as a loss even if they won the game.  This means that participants that selected Brazil to win their first round of 16 match, lost the wager because it went to penalty kicks even though they still won the game.  Points are awarded to players who selected moneyline wagers on the team that won the game, even though they may have lost the wager.  We will have an updated rankings soon.

This rule only applies to the knockout round, runner up match and championship match which is all games from 6/28/14 to the Championship game.

We thank everyone for their participation and valued feedback.

I think that the plays should be posted prior to the games starting.

I think that the plays should be posted prior to the games starting.

We had planned to do this from the beginning but it is too easy to copy another player's wagers in that case.  We are updating the rankings now after the round of 16 has now been reduced to the round of 8.  If a player sees an error in their score, please message us so that we can update the rankings accordingly.  Thank you.

I was right. Someone from Facebook or Twitter will win, also known as a Betcoinsports employee, that picks all winners after the games are over.
