Not sure if people would let 100 come again barring some major technical disaster.

500 is definitely possible though.

500 is the lowest it will go.  We are never ever seeing bitcoin in the $400 range again

Whatever happens happens... it's all short term fluctuations.
Personally I don't think we'll go much lower than ~575.

$100 is extremely unlikely.. especially without signficantly bad news coming out.

So is this what's known as a flash crash?

Any reason for the drop or was this all par for the course settling back down to a norm after a brief "rally" up?

I'm surprised to see it nearing $600 but can't say I'm disappointed. I bought my first bitcoin at 399 after fees. I still wanted it to drop to $100 or less so I could buy even more. Been buying it (going up) ever since, and will keep on buying it until the day bitcoin ceases to exist. I feel the same way just buying about $760 worth last week, waiting on it to transfer over. I totally don't mind if it drops to 300 or 200 again, or 4-500...because my only response is cool, I can buy even more.

I think many people feel the same way so when we're all buying, the demand is showing, which will move the price back up, right?

You say "anti government" like that's a bad thing...

It's bouncing straight off of $600, at least for now.

Yeah, $100 will only happen if bitcoin dies.

I don´t see it going under 500, and if it make it, it wont be for long time, cause at the instant all the bots are going to buy back up again.

Short term price moves don't matter. Unless something changes,  we go on up.

It will probably change back after the FBI sale

Kashmir updated her Forbes article to suggest this. I could live with a lower price for a few months to keep the cash out of the FBI's hands. Almost kind of wish they just sold slowly on the open market to prevent people pacing around wondering if it's unethical to bid.

best explanation i've found so far: whales found out about FBI's auctioning off bitcoins, good opportunity.. so maybe the whales cashed out their current bitcoins to pursue that opportunity.

It is a possible outcome at least when your dealing with the FBI their is no concern about them jipping you on this sale
If you pay for a million you get the equivalent in Bitcoins no escrow needed Smiley

Yah I read that update from Kashmir and agree with its suggestion, the price may relapse a bit it did stop the rise for now and chilled the market buildup so it would be a good time to get a few more Bitcoins Smiley.

My thought as well, anyone interested in buying those coins would want the price suppressed while they are bidding for it.

Feel like it's worth mentioning, too, that 6/12 volume just on BFX was >30kBTC - more than FBI is auctioning. Total volume with CNY exchanges has been around 200kBTC today (6/12).
