Hi, guys.

Some days ago, I knew block explorer site (http://chainz.cryptoid.info).

It has unique feature that we can know who is the owner of an address, for example mintpal, cryptsy, or poloniex.

As I think, it is very thankful feature, but not all coins are designated.

My question is that how someone can know who is the owner technically?

Is there any special way to recognize the owner?

i dont thing so, the whole point of bitcoin is annonimity, and creating a new address each time u use bitcoin.
the reason u know some of the addresses is that owners are not hiding , f.e. they have their info public.

The only way to know the owner info if he buy something with btc and have a shipment address. Otherwise its hard to tell if its real.

or delivery address.

I am assuming that the seller would have to put your info out there? I would not want that to happen and would never buy from the guy again if that was the case.

Unless the address owner discloses it publicly or use the address to handle payments repeatedly, there is no way you can get the address owner's identity.

You can only work out the name after the address has been used and linked with a service or something, otherwise its impossible to know who owns the address.

You can not know who is the owner of an address, that's impossible !

Only things that you can do, is to see if that address is much utilized. Smiley

The onus of protecting the pseudonymous nature of an address is on its owner.
It can only be revealed if the owner does so voluntarily or isn't careful about his usage patterns.

I would like to know too,.
I don't think it's possible Roll Eyes " the identity of the user behind an address remains unknown until information is revealed during a purchase or in other circumstances. "

If you were running a full node and a TX that is broadcast by that address was broadcast directly to you node then you would know their IP address.

If the person wasn't running a client but withdrew from an exchange or gambling sites or online wallets, you will only know their IP.The worst case is that the person ran their bitcoin client behind Tor.

This site does not work. I tried to find out the owner of Satoshi's address 12c6DSiU4Rq3P4ZxziKxzrL5LmMBrzjrJX, but it could not say that it is Satoshi. Cheesy

Nope, not possible at all, unless it's linked to someone. I normally Google addresses, or use the Deep Net search engine if I want to see if it's linked.

You won't know if the transaction is initiated by that IP, or is just relayed by that IP.
Also, people can push their transactions using sites like https://blockchain.info/pushtx and https://blockr.io/tx/push.

Exchanges are centralized, so a simple analysis could uncover who they are. Individuals who have only made a handful of transactions -- not so easy IMO.

This spot for rent.

And it is much harder if people create new addresses for each transaction. Smiley
