In the last few weeks we had 5 ancient related coins.

Civilazation coin was the worst of it. DEV really sucks and destroy his coin.

Pyramid coin is still alive but not trading on any exchange.

Romancoin had a nice run to 600sats and gave IPO investors a return of 1200%. Trading on bittrex but volume is really low. DEV has some private problems and not a lot has happened in the last week.

Greekcoin is the only coin that is currently pretty active. They want to change the name of the coin because it like it too much to the country hype coins. IPO on this one gave a return of 800%.

Ottoman coin is the first X13 ancient coins, will be launched on the 20th of June, again there is a IPO available, with currently 1.60BTC deposit in IPO.

Based on above list of ancient coins, it will be a risky trade, either it will be pretty successfully like Greekcoin or you will have someone that is like Civilazation coin and it will look like a mess.

I've join the Roman and the Greekcoin IPO (and sold my IPO coins) and had a great return. Bought a few Greekcoin coins because of the name change. Civilazation coin mess things up by trying to launch too quickly.

How does everyone win in a zero-sum game?

For someone to win, someone has to lose. If you sold ROM at 600 sat, that means someone bought at 600 sat and is bagholding at a huge loss.

So you are wrong, not everyone wins.

Correct, but that is with BTC too, someone bought at $1200 and now it is only $650, and some even bought at $150 after Mtgox. That is everywhere...

I wonder how people who bought those coins from you will feel?

I couldn't get hold of any guys who called me stupid for not buying into aurora when it was past 50$ already.

But this applies to 95% of the coins, no?

I would say 99.8 % ,since only on the mint voting page we have 400 coins .. add the dead ones , those in progress...

Lets be honest.

We have BTC, LTC and what is next... are we sure that Darkcoin will still be in market next year? I don't think so, and what about Blackcoin, same here, it is now popular, but what about next year. Dogecoin was so popular, now nobody talks about Dogecoin anymore. The only coin that you hear is BTC and sometimes you hear LTC, and all the other coins are coming and going. Earthcoin was a hype beginning of the year, no nothing. What happened with Zetacoin, FTC, Namecoin, etc

Remove all those pumps on mintpal and 90% of the coins listed there are in fact dead. But that is altcoin world, everybody knows. A few will make big profit, and a lot will be too late and lose.
