I believe there is no future for litecoin or any other coin, beside I feel also no need for all these curriences.

Yes, Bitcoin will remain the only money in circulation. Each other money also in little part copy bitcoin.

To be honest, only advantage I can find is, mining then trading from BTC.

This is it ONLY.

Litecoin has no usage and no unique feature.

Depends. It depends that Litecoin staff will assume a good marketing team. If it happens, there is a good probability that Litecoin will rise Smiley

Is there any indication of this? Is there any indication that the people involved in Litecoin are doing anything at all?

It looks like their just content to sit on their hands and do nothing while the rest of the world passes them by.

I thought litecoin was alright back in 2011. I mean, hey, why not? Silver to bitcoin's gold. Alright. It's nice to have a back up with a different hashing algorithm. But now?

Time has proven litecoin developers are sitting on the ass and do nothing while the rest of the world passes them by.

There isn't nothing. I hope that Charles Lee will make something, if he'll not do nothing, Litecoin will drop to 1$.

Litecoin has no usage and no unique feature.

With ASICs coming to the market for scrypt algs, LTC will really be nothing more then BTC.

Apparently situation is not bad enough, or someone will take over to lead the dev team, or fork it to add more innovative features. It's easier said than done, it requires vision, skill and firm resolution.

Ltc-x11 didn't make it, but there will be 2nd, 3rd, 4th try. I believe.

I asked myself the same question many times, and looking at the market data it just makes no sence..
Bitcoin goes up, btc/ltc pair goes down, bitcoin goes down , btc/ltc stays the same , and ltc/usd drops again.

there is NO development in litecoin, what so ever, thats why noone wants to buy it.
sad, but true

Litecoin dont need innovations. Altcoins making them. If necessary they can be copy cat implemented very fast. Dont worry.

I believe there is no future for litecoin or any other coin, beside I feel also no need for all these curriences.

The blockchain of litecoin is very valueable. It has a very strong scrypt difficulty, growing, and alot of coins in circulation, with $100 Mill value. Altcoins bringing innovation with them, so there are very necessary.

Litecoin will still have a high inflation rate for another 1.5 - 2 years, after that it may experience an April 2013 like bubble due to halving.

it was the experience made, that pow coins are losing their value due to halving (p.e. dogecoin), because miner leaving the boat. Less people using it, higher pressure on the price.

Litecoin will still have a high inflation rate for another 1.5 - 2 years, after that it may experience an April 2013 like bubble due to halving.

That inflation rate is a bigger problem than Bitcoin's, because many miners of Litecoins instantly sell for Bitcoins or other alts.
I doubt there will be enough buyer to absorb that supply at current rates in the next two years.

Alot of miners are mining btc and transfering instantly into altcoins. So that is more or less (a very modern popular word every noob now using coming...-> ;-) an equilibrium. I did not find any statistics for that.

For me this thread is just filled with alot of BS and scumm IMO more as the rest of bitcointalk.org. Are there ANY thinking people at bitcointalk.org with skills of analysis and able to construct logic theories. It seems every one is a dumb ass playing GTA and posting during loading sequencies.

Hello All,

What is future of litecoin? Does its worth investing in it?
Currently is at $10, will it grow like btc and reach upto 400-500 USD after few years?

No. The future does not look very good. The one advantage it has over BTC is the scrypt algorithm. So if there is a flaw discovered in sha256 and Bitcoin is doomed, then Litecoins value might rise significantly. But this might be only short lived as the trust in crypto currencies will be mostly lost at that point.

I don't see any further rising in Litecoin value in the near future, there are many more interesting altcoins that can be placed beside bitcoins.

The price of litecoin now seems to have decoupled from bitcoin.
So to that extent, it is no longer benefiting from bitcoin price increases.

I think the price is suffering right now from people mining it and immediately flipping it over into BTC.

A higher difficulty will probably slow this down, and could cause the price to rise again

This entire thread is a huge buy signal to me. There truly is blood on the streets now.

Litecoin is exactly where bitcoin was 2 years ago.  Its value for buyers is exceeding the cost to make coins.  As diff goes up, the costs to make coins go up.  Excellent value proposition.  I have significant buy orders at 4 and I hope it drops to there.  I've got a small position at 5 as I think it will certainly go down there.  It looks like prices are currently stable but if Bitcoin takes a small tumble, Litecoin will fall to 5 or lower and I doubt it will stay there that long.  In 6 months, Litecoin's prices will have recovered greatly and I'll have doubled or tripled (or more).  Can't really do that with Bitcoin when BTC is at 550.

Either this situation, or dropped even lower. I think it's a good opportunity to buy, as the risk to lose is very low if you have only one  Smiley .. but I think first BTC will go up, then LTC will follow. It seemed like that in the past

I hope your right, but given one year history of the Litecoin price, the trend does not look good at all. The same can be said about others old altcoins. I guess not enought demmand here  Huh
