What is a good program to help track exchange rates, track currency rates and be able to chart and
manipulate that data?
I'm really coming up short in attempting to find something I can use on my desktop.
I can find lots of smartphone apps and web based apps and if I wanted to use excel I could probably come up with something
there.
I'd like to find a program that will display results in realtime.
Ideally a program that you can add currency to, add sites api calls etc.

BTC-e have an integration with MetaTrader. I don't think you'll be able to do everything you wish with it though.

I haven't seen any programs that can do this, but some exchanges have this sort of data. Maybe there's a gap in the market for this?

I don't know to be honest, what I know is about normal stacks and so.

Try to Google with different keywords.

I've been trying google and just get swamped with results for smartphone apps for currency conversion programs.
Or web based applications which I'd rather not use.
So instead of wading through pages of worthless results I thought I'd try the communities general knowledgebase.

You could create a API that automatically pulls the rate from a specific exchange every x seconds and copies this information to a spreadsheet.
