But what is hedging ?

Normally done by producers to reduce their risk.

For bitcoin miners, they can hedge the price but not the network difficulty.

I look at my crystal ball of Future Telling every day. Thing is that damn thing takes BTC as fuel. So basicly i have to throw in 1 BTC just to earn 1 BTC in that same time....
I'm working on kind of magic to improve it so i can at least earn enough to pay for time i spend using it....freakin perpetuum mobile...

Might I suggest simply buying most of the supply and manipulating the price so that it is where you needed it to be?

The best you can do is guess. Bitcoin is incredibly volatile.

I predict it will do what the system allows. There are two many variable to predict the price. Large stock companies spend alot of money trying to model the markets, but they cant count for every variable, so they switch spending their money on things like fast internet so they can get the information before others and move then.
