Has anyone used the Bitcoin ATM in Vegas? http://www.reviewjournal.com/business/casinos-gaming/robocoin-first-bitcoin-atm-casino-launches-dA tall blue box tucked in the rear of The D casino in downtown Las Vegas could soon shake up the gambling industry.
That’s the hope of Derek Stevens and Jordan Kelley, who met Wednesday on the casino floor as they prepared to launch the first Bitcoin ATM ever placed in a casino.
Standing against a wall next to the hotel gift shop, which accepts the virtual currency, the 5-foot, 7-inch Robocoin machine was powered up Thursday, allowing customers to transform Bitcoin into cash and cash into Bitcoin.
“I’m anxious. I’m excited about it,” Stevens, the casino’s owner told Kelley, CEO of Las Vegas-based Robocoin. “But it’s not something you can project that easy.”
Robocoin can hold upward of $500,000 in cash. Kelley likes to think of rich foreign businessmen storing loads of cash in Bitcoin before traveling to Las Vegas and emptying their online wallets in the form of dollars at the casino. if the claims are true, then it's possible to live in Las Vegas on Bitcoin? -bm

living in Vegas for a few months on Bitcoin? sounds like a blast!
Vegas is actually a nice town these days except for the summer months(the heat is uncomforable). Things like hotels and restaurants are really affordable there, it's fun even if you don't like gambling.

That's neat it provides the convenience of not having to carry a large amount of cash out of the casino with you Just convert it to Bitcoins put in the QR code and leave without a concern
Anyways as waldox mentioned you can get a debit card with Cavirtex that you can use anywhere so its like cash Only a matter of time till we get Bitcoin Slot machines and instead of credits you can play with Bitcoins and send the remaining balance to cash XD Or send it to yourself for that micropenny hehe

Vegas has a nice bitcoin community. I used to live there and go to the meetups. Checkout bitcoinsinvegas.com - that site is run by Tuxavant, as are most of the bitcoin meetups/events in Vegas. Shoot him a PM if you want to be added to the mailing lists.

Vegas is great for people who do not gamble and/or are able to stick with small amounts. You can find tons of good deals on rooms and meals if you look around.

I doubt it will , most likely it will convert it into cash and you still need to change it into chips yourself.

I was just in Vegas last weekend, but didn't see any places accepting BTC. I didn't really go searching though... Vegas is a great place for BTC adoption, because it is such a tourist hot spot, there are people from all walks of life rolling through there on a daily basis

I don't that is possible , for now atleast but I wouldn't say it's not possible in the future tho I thought one of those certified casinos did it? I think it was John & Sally, but, really haven't heard much from them. On Topic: Isn't this sort of Xapo is hoping to do with their Bitcoin debit cards? And great to see more acceptance in one of the biggest gambling sites.

Catchy title, but what you're asking isn't just limited to Vegas. With the same logic, you can live off of bitcoins ANYWHERE that has a bitcoin ATM.
Vegas' cost of living is actually pretty low, as long as you stay off the strip. I personally think Vegas is overrated. It's glamorous and all, but once you've been there a few times it's just meh...

I look forward to the future, I have a feeling that early adopters and general Bitcoin enthusiasts will be spending time in Las Vegas dropping coin.
