My views about constructive and non-constructive posts, especially for those who recently joined any signature campaign.

1. Every Opening Post and replies contributing towards it are considered as constructive posts.Any other irrelevant posts are considered to be spam.

For example,if you ask "What's the capital of United States" and I say it's very hot today,it will be considered as spam.

2. Any posts made for the welfare of the community are definitely constructive, including giveaways.

3. Trolling is definitely non-constructive.

Example, you are selling 1 bitcoin and I offer you 50 cents, something which is not considerable at all and definitely a troll.

4. Very short replies like 'I know' , 'Okay' also make up non-constructive posts.

5. Making any posts with the purpose of increasing post count like posting too much in off-topic,especially when you recently joined a  signature campaign is not constructive either.

This is actually a good guide.

But what about one-sentence posts? Would those be very short or would they be "legitimate" as one would say.

And you say that posts irrelevant to the topic are spam, but what about a discussion that is semi-off-topic? I saw one between to high-activity members a day or two ago, and I'm still not sure what to make of it...

Sorry about all the questions. I'm very curious about things like these. You don't have to answer if you don't want to.

Most people in signature campaigns (spammers) tend to "agree" with others a lot.
For example:

Quote
Blah blah blah, OP, you should do this, blah blah blah, yeah, thanks for reading
Spammy post:

Yes I agree/this is very true, OP you should look at this, very good

^ So many people posting shit like this.  Most of the time, they don't really agree, they're just too lazy and stupid to come up with their own opinions/real posts.

ALSO.  ALL (most) THOSE PEOPLE POSTING IN SIGNATURE CAMPAIGNS.  LOL.  Asking in a question in a sig campaign that 99% of the time has already been answered.  Bullshit posts. :-/

Most of this is common sense, but it's obvious almost every reply under six words is mostly spam. One-worders, and just emoticons or images are, aswel.

1 - What about one-line answers? When they start to be spam? For example: if I answer "Washington", will it be spam? I think the signature campaigns say that one-word answer won't be paid, but in this case it gives the answer for the question  Undecided

2 - OK.

3 - You should agree flaming and personal attacks too. Also personal discussions that end up killing the topic's theme(it's common on off-topic)

4 - It in some cases can conflict with 1. Another example: someone asks where he can find certain information, and I post with the link for the information

5 - Posting too much in off-topic is dangerous, specially if you recently joined a signature campaign. But in off topic there are useless topics and topics with really good discussions, some related to bitcoins(for example: one asking why you entered the BTC world). Think the best rule is only post the topics with good discussions, and if, and only if, you have very substantial things to add, or genuine personal interest about what is being posted(for example: I think it is legit discuss about future results of world cup if you made bets about the results.

What should be added:

6 - Read all topic before posting. Post if what you say have not been said in the topic.

7 - Read the subforum rules before posting.

8 - Make consecutive posts, one after another, is considered bad net etiquette, and I think that if you are part of a signature campaign will be considered spam, no matter how constructive they are. So don't do that in any hypothesis, edit your posts if you forgot to say something. If you want anwer more than one post, answer all of them in one single post.

Well do they have a paid sig campaign or not?

My rule of thumb has always been, if the thread would be unaffected regardless of whether or not you post what you want to post, then simply don't post it. Length doesn't really matter, content does.

I think that's the first question someone asks. Though, I don't think it's the right question to ask. Yes, tons of people with sig campaigns spam, however, I've seen members grave digging threads like crazy only to boost up their post count to get to 1337.

I'm guessing both, then, however since I'm not Yakamoto, I don't know. It would seem that way. People are basically scrambling around for activity and higher counts.

Yes, they both had a paid campaign. I think it was a lengthy discussion between Dank and Vod.

Neither Vod nor Dank have a paid signature. They have their own addresses in though.

[...]

I usually do that, but the truth is that if you're answering different people with unrelated posts, it tends to turn your post into a mess. Sad This particular usage shouldn't be considered spam in my opinion.

Other than that, if you're answering different people that basically have the same concern, or if you just want to add more information than you previously included in a post, it makes sense to lump everything up in the same post.

EDIT: actually, can anyone direct me to a thread where it is explicitly stated that the first usage I mentioned is considered spam? Or could a mod let us know how they view such posts, if they haven't already somewhere else?

Rule no 8 is actually pretty reasonable. You may add: even if you are creating perfectly fine coherent and constructive posts in large quantity you are probably spammer if you have paid signature.
