Hopefully closer to home so his family and friends can participate more easily in his recovery. This has to be good news even if he may sadly never fully recover.

Strange, as I read last week that he is in a permanent vegetative state and was being moved from Grenoble to a care home nearer to his family. Totally contradictory news??. Hope the news is correct!

It is indeed good news that Michael is out of the coma, although is prognosis is not clear. While respecting his family's right to privacy, I do feel that the information released to his fans is somewhat lacking in any meaningful detail. The statements usually leave more questions unanswered than anything else.

We don't know any more of the details. But no one expected him to wake up from the coma, but he did. My heart says that he will be able to recover fully, although it might take a few years. He is just 45 years old... and I expect him to live many more decades.

He is not in a coma, but he likely will never be 100% functional like he was before the accident. There was a good explanation in some AskReddit coma thread earlier today.

He is not in a coma, but he likely will never be 100% functional like he was before the accident. Hmmmm.... so there is a chance that he will have to confine himself to the wheelchair for a few years. I don't expect him to return to the motor racing, but I'll be very happy if he is able to walk on his own.
