Global Payment Titan Digital River to Accept Bitcoin

The Minnesota-based electronic payment processor Digital River has announced it will be accepting Bitcoin.

Bitcoin will now be available along with other payment options, such as credit cards, debit cards, wire transfers, and bank transfers.

Souheil Badran, Vice President and General Manager of the company said it would seek ways to pass on the savings it makes from lower-cost bitcoin transactions to its business customers. He also said that he believes Bitcoin is here to stay and not a passing fad.

Market cap is just over $500 million, so probably comes under the small-cap sector. But still good news for Bitcoin enthusiasts.

Yes. They are. They are listed in the NASDAQ stock exchange. Not listed anywhere outside the US, but they have been in NASDAQ for more than a decade now. If I am not wrong, the IPO was issued in 1999.

Nice! Payment processing should be a target industry for bitcoin. The advantages just make good business sense.

Digital River is very seeing when people buy software for picture or video retouch ... magix, acdsee, corel and nero are example.
