Is the Tekcoin pool a p2pool node?

If yes, where is it located?

no it is MPOS on PPLNS so latency isn't an issue
What is MPOS?

Won´t you get massive variance from such a small TEK pool?

Currently there are over 4TH/s on a network of 24TH/s - it's not the smallest. We are just pushing to crack that first block and have been in discussion with TEK developer regarding the ability to mine the coin.

If i go to the TEK website, there is an option to download the windows and linux client, aswell as the blockchain.

MY wallet is stuck at synchronizing but hasn´t sincd one single block yet.

Therefore i hoped i could simply download the block history and manually load it into the client (why else would you be able to download it from the download page manually?)

I put the tekchain folder into the AppData folder.

It seems to have worked, as it is now syncing the blocks fast.

Thanks for your help!

good to see miners getting on our TEK pool. With BTC difficulty rising fast, we are currently researching which other altcoins to build pools for - if you have any suggestions, please let us know and we'll consider setting up a pool for your suggested altcoins.

I really hope PetaMine will start running fully on p2pool by Friday, as it would give a huge boost to p2pool users, as variance should get considerably lower.

it needs it. hashrate is far too low to make p2pool profitable at the moment - I recognise this and that's why, even though I am maintaining the nodes, i'm not mining on them myself, currently. Looking to the future, it seems the p2pool community are to be working on the p2pool code, so once things have been evened out, I expect miners to come back. there is some discourse with the developer currently and this is why p2pool lost over 2/3rds of it's network hashrate in the last week.

well, anyway; nodes are there, feel free to use them when you wish, and hop off when you feel you can find more profit on another pool or altcoin.

This is a common misconception.

Profitability isn´t influenced by pool size, only variance is.

p2pool has long PPLNS rounds though, so every share is counted when paying.

In fact, you can get more out of p2pool than any other pool, when you have a low reject share rate.

i see.
well, as central cavern is still in launch phase, we are opening more and more coin pools, so my miners are limited to mine at one pool at a time! I'm currently mining on our TEKcoin pool  Grin
