Actually, the choice of coins are based upon requests. But some of the coins have a good potential like the AERO, VOOT, SYNC, FIRE. Rest don't seem to have that potential. But their devs contact me and gimme bounty, request me to add them. So, I have to add them. Anyways, in the next version (i.e. 2.6.0), I will remove some coins and most probably add some new ones. Anyways please use that or let me know which coin you want me to add.

Sorry, no vanity creator for MAC. Try installing windows on VMWare and try creating a vanity address using the tool.

If people still want to generate vanity addresses of the Discontinued coins, they can download the older version 2.5.0 from this link : http://www.datafilehost.com/d/59ee624b

Run it from a console window so you can actually see what it is - and you are - doing.  A typical way to run it would be:
Code:
oclvanitygen64.exe -k -o addresses.txt 1myvanity
(oclvanitygen uses your GPU to find matches more quickly, but does not work on all platforms)
For more information on VanityGen and its options, see:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25804

Unless you want to use the batch file from this thread, in which case you should only have to follow the steps.
( No idea why coins get supported/unsupported, it's not like it weighs heavily on the batch file to keep support for any that are added specifically or having the user enter the network byte. )

This Netcoin? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295616.0
Their github link is broken, but seems like it should have been linking to: https://github.com/netcoinproject/netcoin
Which is extremely old.
I also got this one in the Google results: https://github.com/netcoinfoundation/netcoin
Which seems to be more recent.

In either case, looks like it would be '112'.

For more information on finding the 'network byte' for altcoins, see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25804.msg7600855#msg7600855

It's called a bunch of things.  I believe that historically it was called the network byte or version byte (with 'version' referring to main net vs testnet, rather than version numbers? Can't say I dug into that.).  It's technically just a prefix.
See also: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/List_of_address_prefixes
( doesn't list popular altcoins' use of specific prefixes.  I'm inclined to add them, but I know there's some aversion to that from other editors Smiley )
