the pow has 200G?

Attention Windows Users

Update - 20.33 UTC 22/06/2014
It has come to our attention that some users that downloaded the Windows wallet from github have been having synching issues. So we'd like to request that all our Windows users make sure they have the right version of the wallet, and if not redownload their wallet (this only applies if you have a version other than v1.0.1.1-1-gb8df644-beta under help->debug window)

So in short
  • only applies to windows users that downloaded their wallet from github
  • does not apply to mac users
  • does not apply to linux users
  • does not apply to windows users that downloaded their wallet from the sendspace linked at guerillacoin.com
  • applies if staking before block 6000

Update - 0205UTC 22/06/2014

Hello guys, thank you for your attention.

We have had a fantastic launch! We have spent the last week developing features and improvements to the coin.
The last 24 hours have produced unsettling conditions for miners causing us to act to preserve the fairness of our coin distribution.
Due to very large amounts of suspicious and anonymous hashrate which cannot be attributed to any of of the pools we are making changes to the code and announcing a hard-fork.

You must download the new wallets immediately and spread this announcement.   We are in the process of contacting pools and exchanges as we speak.

Check the main announcement thread shortly for details on coin features after this point, you will love the new wallet and what is to come.

The big Guerilla went on the rampage at 2100UTC on 18/06/2014.

New wallet needs to be downloaded asap.  Please see following update for details.  New website online at http://www.guerillacoin.com with info and wallets.

Specifications:

Algo: X11 PoW/PoS
Total coins lifetime: 15 000 000
Total coins at end of POW: 4 500 000
Block time: 1 minute
Block reward: 750
Block maturity: 510
POW Blocks: 6000
FAST STAKE INTEREST after 8 hours but no more than 365 days.
NO Premine

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Think ahead I say.

Imagine you are one of the miners in a multipool or regular pool mining GUE.  Then because you dont pay attention to what you are mining and just sell off you don't realize that GUE is going POS.

So now all of a sudden your pool or multipool switches to a new coin.

If you are like many miners do you a hold onto what coins you had saved up and mine the next coin?

or do you b.

Dump what you had left and move to the next multipool coin and save your GUE?

I imagine most here will be bias and say I would keep mt gue! Now that is fine and I understand, but if you have mined you might see many miners ( at least at first ) take option b, sell what they have at the switch and just move on.

Just something to think about.  Decide what you think is more probable, at least right after the switch, gl.

Edit - to be clear I believe at least initially most miners in pools send their gue to sell after the pos switch.  However, after that initial sell off the game changes.  Just an opinion will soon see.  Who knows maybe the massive selling we saw in last few hours was that already starting?  Will see how much is left who knows maybe a lot maybe not much at all left to sell.

Another thing to watch for would be increasing number of coins being moved in the blockchain.  I am sure big multipools already moved theirs and are sitting on bittrex etc.  However, if you see a abnormal increase in coins being moved that might tend to validate movement to exchanges by the miners.

But to be just as fair it could also mean people moving coins to their wallets to start staking ( although I wonder how many people want to be stuck staking during high volatility times?  Probably smarter to stake and tie up coins when things are settled down more ).

--------------Example block 5941 6k coins moved.. almost to the minute of clearing 6k sell off on bittrex.---------------

Testing purposes. The first pos coins started with sending yourself the amount you wanted to stake.

Edit: I also did my best to break the wallet without using command line and I could not.

That difficulty level made my back hurt, but I kept swingin!

Usually, after pow ends, the Devs disappear. So "2 commits to master since this release" is music to my eyes... especially after mortgaging grandmothers house yesterday to buy more Guerillacoins. Hopefully she will stop crying now and end all that incessant "Where am I gonna live" yammering.

To the Devs:
Thanks for the daily updates on the main page of this thread. You stuck around and that is 100% badass.

To Everyone Else:
Lets send a ton of GUE to the Devs and give them some leverage to refuel this rocket.
The more you donate, the more valuable your coins can become. Your investment will pay for itself in the near future and then some or I'll eat my hat on youtube. Seriously.

Empower your GUE by sending some to GCcGcMSfsVwyzZdunjvVqFgBnB8D9ZVcoF
