The network is intact and coins are secure however we will be releasing a checkpointed wallet very shortly to ensure the best user experience for all. The "numerous announcements" all within the span of 2 days. We watch 92 different coins (just checked github), my github updates email box is packed, and with patch notes like "1.0.1" and "does not apply to linux users"...
I'm certainly not trying to say this falls on anyone but me. I should have seen the update, I should have updated the daemon/blockchain, and we should have been mining on the correct fork. But in my opinion, 2 days update time, with "announcements" like "does not apply to [your platform]", is a bit rediculous.
