I would say as deep as your in you may as well make the best of it. I havent followed the Viper Miner rollout but assuming its legit you would likely make more back going ahead and keeping it. I wish you great luck getting your money back out of it no matter how you do it.

As much as  I would like to buy into this equipment sadly I don't do pre orders any more more do I take the risk in  newer unknown business and with today's hardware market for mining equipment theirs too many scams going.
