I have no idea where the original Trojan on my PC came from. I'll list what happened once they got into my laptop.
I wasn't talking about you, I was talking generally and i know what the hacker did, you already said that.

Thanks for the other info, i will see what that leads us.

Also did you keep a copy of the files the hacker edited/uploaded?

Only god can judge me.

You made a clone of the hard drive before you did anything, right?  Undecided

Looks like most of the coins that were stolen are sitting here  https://blockchain.info/address/1JZn4qpmH8hQKxB4AfaYWkwZFKovumwEt1 Maybe I clicked on the wrong link to follow but I think thats where 10 stolen coins are.. Not like you can do anything about it, but i was thinking about sending them a dust message, but that would just enrich the thieves even more, even if its dust...

Thieves don't have morals, so they wouldn't care about the message.

The best revenge is good living.

The best revenge is a small chunk of lead through the brain AND recovering the coins, in no particular order. Hopefully they will make a mistake and purchase something that makes them known.

About karma: "Noella's boss stressed her out until we lost the baby, and then fired her".

....they appear to have a huge backlog.  Smiley

Loan request: "I need 7 BTC because We hired an archaelogist and asked him: Is there a treasure? And he said yes!"

I always have linux live usb distro handy for when I get a trojan or something like that.
It saved my ass once, installed an app to help me get odd calculations for online poker and it turned out to be a trojan.

The hacker sent me a message through NETSEND telling me to log into my pokerstars account or he would wipe my pc.
Doing this would let him get the password ofc, through the built in keylogger.

Just pulled out my ethernet cable, rebooted into the live distro and removed the threat with ClamAV.

This might not be applicable to your situation, but nevertheless could come in handy for any future infections.

after some very long discussions a decision has been made by Dob to part with our museum items - unless they can be sponsored - please be aware that all items that were donated to the museum are excluded from this "auction" as these are sponsored by those individuals that dontated them

here is the feed for the list:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=665252.msg7506419#msg7506419

please share around and feel free to post your bids within the feed

I send 0.3 BTC with 0% intrest loan to help them out.

DobZombie doesn't accept donations but I believe he can't refuse a gift  Grin so I send him 0.05 BTC as a gift, he must spend on the wedding cake or champagne.

I hereby ask the community send if possible a small gift if you can miss it. Please feel free to do so, so they can have great  (big) wedding cake and a nice bottle of champagne Grin

It's great to see all those people from the bitcoincommunity that help out someone who is trouble, respect !

I would suggest to add the current amount raised to the title and update it when it has changed a lot.
And I think it's a bit sad that you have to auction stuff from the museum, I really hope you can get the full amount by loans and donations.

For those who lent him money (like i did)
I told him that if the price of bitcoin skyrocket before he can give back the money he will only have to give back the fiat equivalent at today's rate.

(ie : if you lend him 1BTC today = 550$ but if in 3 months 1BTC = 2500$ he will have all the difficulties to give it back but 550$ will always be 550$).

I even told him that if BTC is obove 1500$ he doens't have to give me back the BTC lent as i would have made a small profit on the remaining BTC i have ...therefore it would be a gift.
