We were told we would have flying cars by now.

even in back to the future movie, when they are going to 2015, we can see many flying cars there
it's now 2014 and we still don't see it

Super human exoskeleton for the army
Advance AI - capable of learning and has feelings like we do
Space Colony, it can be on mars, on saturns moon or in space orbiting earth.
Virtual reality worlds like in matrix movie
Space Elevator - the cheapest way to go space
Quantum Computers
Flying Cars - Maybe Year 2050 - 2100. Right now it is fuel extensive, unless we can invent a small fusion generator that can be fitted into the car or anti gravity is discovered.
