I'm looking for a loan of 14BTC or AUD$8000 to pay for my wedding/honeymoon on the 19th July.  I can take the loan as BTC, or take it as cash value.

What... you are offering (mainly) content that others have given to you for the sole purpose of the museum as collateral? Huh

only 3 or 4 items on there were actually donated to the museum.

The rest was all paid for by myself.

we have put in so much of our time, energy and emotion to make this a special day for us...to have this happen only 4 weeks out is heart-breaking for the both of us

your kind words and offer of help are making me begin to have faith in the BTC community again (but I will never stop hating the person who has done this to us, no matter who he/she is within this community)

So sorry to hear this. I read the other thread and it's heartbreaking to hear such a thing happen to a long time legit member. I would loan you a partial amount, but 6 months is too long and anything can happen to btc value in that time. Have you tried getting a personal loan from the bank? And also, I would take your personal picture and email off the web for security reasons. You've already been hacked because of security negligence, don't risk anything else.

I was only thinking 6 months maximum. In reality I could get in back in 3 months.

I'm happy to borrow BTC or fiat value.

God at this point I'd be happy to pay 25% over the life of the loan!

I can tell you from experience if you want to do well in life wait till you have some paper before you go throw a big party and vacation. I have been ripped off many times and i buckled down and worked harder i didnt decide that by all possible means i must throw a party  besides the facts that i have no money. I know you had a date set so what? If you are paying 25% extra on your cash to party and go on a vacation you are just going to be that much more broke after. Then you have to find out if they take crypto currency  seriously at the pay day loan store? then you find out you knocked up your little bitcoin buddy, then you get hacked again!!!!! i don't want to be a jag off  but come on man you are just going to dig a hole

I'd love to delay the wedding, and honeymoon! But I'm already half paid in both Sad

I really really want to goto Hollywood before I lose the ability to walk. I have a degenerative bone disease which is squishing my spine into all sorts of shapes. Fucking up the nerves that control walking, bladder, and...other things.

I still have a few years left in me, but unfortunately I'm already committed to wedding/honeymoon. :/

Im going to keep an eye on your 2 threads on this matter. I think that the community should be able to come up with 14 coins. The problem with using it as collateral with a big group is obvious. What happens if bitcoin were to skyrocket to the moon in six months, lets say it hits 5k, would you still be able to pay back the 14 coins?

side note: I didn't think it was possible to for an armory wallet to get hacked, but I think you explained how it happened and it would make sense...

what I should have done is used the scrambled on-screen keyboard when sending transactions in armory.

I thought
"That's a good idea, but should I bother using it instead of typing it into the keyboard?"

I should've fucking listen to my gut.

Also read the thread, i hope you find the 14BTC...quite the people out there to hijack wallets. I also hope your doing good health wise, from the newspaper picture to the one in this thread looks like you lost alot of weight. Keep your chin up, your ladie loves you and will stick with you through the thick and thin rite by your side. I would think your better off going to a bank for a loan or work some numbers if you have a mortgage. Im hoping the best for you.

I hadn't noticed this thread so I replied to the other thread first.

I'll copy it here too:

I would be able to provide you with a loan of 0.50 btc
Since these are special circumstances, you can take as much time as you want to pay me back, and I do not want any interest.

I will send when you confirm this is ok for you.

Being the victim of a hack and very large theft quite recently myself, I can sympathize with how you might feel...especially as it was for something so important in your life.

Thankfully I'm lucky enough to be able to take the hit financially, but many like yourself that suffer these hacks & thefts are not...the community should rally for proven and established members that have been the victim, regardless of "coulda shoulda wudda" finger pointing and provide help where needed, especially for something important.  Nothing is 100% safe and secure and I'm a little shocked at the lack of pledges here.

With that in mind (and thinking how upset my real boss would be if our wedding day had been in jeopardy) I'd be happy to send a gift of 1BTC, I don't want it back.

Send me a PM with your address and I'll fire it over.

Yeah I fully agree with this.
I gave an interest free loan, not because I get something out of it, but just because it feels great knowing you helped someone.
It would have been a donation, but I am not really in a position to give out donations like that. I'd rather give a loan of 0.5 btc than a donation of like 0.05 btc Wink

I really hope more people step up and send some money his way.

Are you selling item(s) individually or are you hoping somebody will come along and put up the whole 14BTC just to hold everything?

If selling individual item(s) interested in knowing how much your asking for the 2011 Casacius Physical and whether or not it has been redeemed.

If someone came along and offered a loan, that would get me out of the shit and save my arse!

Otherwise, I'll sell the smallest amount of items to get the 14BTC I need. If I end up having to only sell 5-6 items to make that up, then I only lose 5% of the Museum's items.

Although I was hoping to one day have grandkids and watch their faces light up when I show them the rarest BTC1 casascius of them all...THE ERROR COIN

in the last hour we have had a wonderful member of this bitcoin community step forward and offer a loan for the remaining 10 coin needed to recoup the stolen amount - this means that none of the items will be sold and the museum will remain intact

I would like to thank everyone who has assisted us in loans and donations towards this amount, you have all restored my faith in the BTC community and I am now typing with eyes full of tears

and I would also like to say to everyone who showed an interest in this auction that I thank you for your support and kind words. Thanks to you guys the museum will not be getting split up, if you all hadn't got the word out there we would not have received the loans and donations that we did.
