I have a SP10 in operation. It is a well built, slick machine. Since I don't have it in a really cool room (that thing is loud-75db of whining noise) I do not run in at full blast, just about 1.25-1.35TH. Just checked out the new SP30 due out in Aug/Sep (depending on the batch). Now, while the specs sound great, 6TH for about $5000, at today's difficulty we are talking about $4,500 gross per month. And that's the kicker, 'today's difficulty'. In Sept that will be around twice as much in all likelihood, or more... which means that it will be the equivalent of 2.5TH at today's difficulty.

As a rather new miner, what does this imply? Never buy anything that will not be delivered in a matter of a week or two?

Just hope and pray difficulty will be less that expected?

Buy the lowest gh/$ hardware today and sell off 3, 6, 9 months from now?

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

The fact remains, we have been at a price level for most manufacturers where 3 months to ROI has been the norm for a while now. I think spondoolies have their pricing spot-on.

This is why I post the emotionally chargd 'stop buying 3+ month out preorders' like for the SP-30 but I get railed every time for some reason.
The network hashrate this difficulty has gone up approx what the TOTAL network speed was in March of this year!
What does that mean?  How is it possibe?
It's possible because Companies like spoon are taking your preorder money and using it to buy truck loads of hardware which they are now mining with. It's total bullshit that they are building them...they are already built and hashing away.
Bitmaintech does the same thing but with a much shorter turnaround and they don't take orders until they are ready to ship within a few days.

I only have a signature because I'm allowed.

Here are my optimistic calculations:

http://btcinvest.net/en/bitcoin-mining-profit-calculator.php?diff=17000000000&dcosts=5300&diff_mincrease=15&blpbtc=25&dhsmhs=6000000&diff_mincreasedecrease=3&btcusd=598.61&dpowcon=2700&btcusd_mincrease=1&pcost=0.15&calcweeks=100&dleadtime=6&action=calc

If you start mining in September you will mine ~$3800 in 8 months.
