These start up Altcoins to me are like penny stocks and as such have a high risk and are volatile. I see a few problems , People think they are going to buy or mine a coin and make a million dollars in 5 mins and when that does not happen things get ugly. If I get involved in something not just alt coins but anything in life , if it turns out to be not what I expected I walk away. If someone asks me why I will tell them. It is one thing to warn someone about something but to just post the same thing over and over just makes the whole community look bad and ruins it for others who may have time and money invested. Anyway's while people tell lies, the numbers never lie. What I would like to see is when a coin is launched on its info page something like My name is Joe smith I am the lead developer of coinxyz along with (place real name here) not anon. names or handles. My background is this.... Our plan for this coin is this..... and than an actual example of how you are going to do what ever your plan is. Anyone can make wild claims talk is cheap. Just my take on things. Good luck guys.
Heck I don't even mind if it's a long time respected anon bct account... someone we can trust will stick it out long enough to give a coin it's best shot at it's full potential. of course real names would be best and I'm sure we'll start seeing more "dev's" coming out from the shadows if they want to see some mainstream acceptance of any sort.
Another idea I had was listing all the testing they have put the code through on "testnet"... how far past pow they tested, could even record the screenshot of final run through on testnet then post it to youtube and a link on the ann page
then we could buy with confidence that the coin will make it through mining and into pos phase with no issues and exchanges like Bittrex could have confidence that a horrible coding over look wont screw up their markets.
