What X11 coin is worth mining with about 3Mhash/sec?

Screw X11 then....

 X13?

With either X11 or X13, unless you have a coin you plan to mine and hold I'd suggest a service like NiceHash where you can sell your hashing power.  With 3MH, you should make in the neighborhood of .002BTC per day.  If you want to switch between X11 and X13 without using NiceHash's own technique for coin switching take a look at the NiceHash control program linked in my sig.

BExR exchange rates on your phone's home screen.
Miner Control to get auto algorithm switching for multiple mining services. (please donate if you like)
Could Proof of Blockchain (PoBC) help secure a coin and avoid runaway ASIC mining?

mine new coin and wait 1 week before dumping, not much else you can do , nothing is really profitable, multipool is paying like 0.007 per MH/s as a peak, you can try that

CPU mining generates a lot of heat and shortens your lifespan of the rig. It is possible but you are adding extra heat to the rig without actually gaining a lot more hashrates. Also, consider buying a scrypt ASIC, GPU mining would not be profitable very soon.

CPU mining may not be profitable when compared to GPU mining assuming the coin you are mining can be mined using both CPU & GPU, but to say that CPU mining generates a lot of heat and shortens the lifespan of a rig is insane! Unless the cooler on your CPU is faulty, or the thermal paste is dry, the CPU shouldn't overheat in the first place. That is a misconception.

CPU mining should get your cpu to the 70-80 degrees range and would degrade your computer over time. It pegs your CPU at 100% 24/7. It should degrade your cpu even if you don't make it overheat.

CPU mining is not worth for all the heat it produces and power it consumes which is not worth the trouble. If you are serious about mining , start with some cheap asic or rent some hash .

Mine CPU-coin (XMR aka Monero, etc) with CPU.  You can specify the number of threads, thereby controlling the total percentage of the CPU's power that it consumes.

That's what I do. Cool
